I thought there was a problem in the 90s when students addressed their university professors by their first name. I thought it was disrespectful, but even the professors had no problem with it. We know the universities have become hotbeds of anarchic activism. When authority is not properly exercised, it leads to chaos.

If the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden, that is the fruit of the tree of the Second Vatican Council, has produced two of the worst catechized generations in the history of the Catholic Faith, then what really has the Novus Ordo Church to offer those who are looking to Christ for their salvation? If people simply root about and among the ruins of the Catholic Faith which are the ruins which have been caused by Vatican II, what good will that do? Every day we can read some new atrocity that Rome is engendering. Wouldn't they be doing what 2 Peter 2 verse 22 states very plainly?: "For, that of the true proverb has happened to them: The dog is returned to his vomit: and, The sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire." What you are saying is a consequence, not only of the existence of Vatican II, but of what all those Bishops at Vatican II did to the Council of Trent Church... abandoned and threw out the Council of Trent Church, which abandons and throws out the Truth of Jesus Christ! What had taken the world out of religious chaos, that is the grip of the Protestant Revolt, and returned it to the teachings of Christ, and the Sacraments and the Mass, and the Doctrines and Dogmas, the Council of Trent had used to solidify what it meant to be Catholic; and "the dog has returned to his vomit: and, The sow that was washed, to her wallowing in the mire." (The new "Revolt" of Vatican II... history has repeated itself not from outside of the Church but from inside of the Church.) Under the Council of Trent the True Catholic Faith flourished not only in numbers, but also in sanctity and sainthood. The statistics show beyond a shadow of a doubt that that trend toward the True God, the True Faith, and the True Worship has been reversed by Vatican II. Doesn't this prove to us who want the True Faith, and the True Worship, and the True Sacraments instituted by Christ to give Grace, that what Archbishop Lefebvre told us is the one and only True Remedy. It is OUR PAST THAT IS OUR FUTURE! If we want our future to be in Heaven with God and His Saints, we must rejoin with Pope St. Pius V, and Pope St. Pius X, and the True Catholics... well catechized Catholics... and go back to the Council of Trent Church and stop trying to reform the reform! Isn't that what the Council Fathers of Vatican II did to the Council of Trent? They took what wasn't broke, and pretended to fix it! Archbishop Lefebvre had the vision from the Holy Spirit and has preserved the Council of Trent Church and Faith and Worship for us... UNBROKEN! "

Erm, as a confused Catholic can I check some things here? It seems I may be under estimating the importance of the Latin Mass and SSPX. If I am getting things 'correct' it seems the true Catholic faith is ONLY found in the SSPX and the preservation of the TLM. Let me check this here: Does 'Lex orandi, lex credendi' mean that to change the Mass is to change the faith (and makes the Novus Ordo a denial of Catholicism)? Does attendence at the TLM mean one is a True Catholic while those attending the Novus Ordo are in error because they attend the NO? The TLM must be preserved or the True Faith is lost, is that right? (And why we have this crisis in faith because the true Liturgy has not been preserved?) Or have I got this all wrong? I am not looking to argue but to be informed. I am unclear on all this. I am just checking the *impression* I am getting. Thanks in advance.

The penultimate Shepherd at the moment is Bp. Athanasius Schneider. His book "Flee from Heresy" summarizes the major hereries of the past and shines a light on the errors of the current papacy and the ambiguity of Vatican II. It's a great resource and highly recommended! The clarity of teaching in his book is in stark contrast to Jesuitical obfuscation and Modernist psychobabble. He pulls no punches against the error of "privileged way" nonsense. May God Bless him abundantly!

Fascinating that you mentioned trophic cascade (wolves & rivers) as an analogy -- I have been using this same example for a few years. I take it to the next step -- not only "restoring the natural order restores the system," but that restoration must be done from the top level down, as in apex predators (wolves) and people like popes and presidents in human situations. And likewise, removing (or neutering) that top level ruins everything underneath it or subject to it.

Thank you for an excellent argument for authority in the church and all of life. I am so reluctant to follow any authority figure in the church. If I do listen, then I continually montor what is being said by what I know of my Lord Jesus Christ, what He taught, and the doctors of the church, ie, St Paul, St Thomas, St Augustine, St Teresa of Avila, etc.. I keep looking for a "gotcha" moment that means they don't truly belive Christ is King. I am not an authority on anything really. However, there are too many ideas being made acceptable that are contrary to the church of the past, and I can't believe our Lord accepts the teachings of today. I have exhausted all of the churches in my area. There are no sspx or any of the traditional orders in my area. I have decided to make frequent visits to the Blessed Sacrament and pray for revelation about this problem. I will be watching mass online. I know it is not adequare, but I just can't do mediocre mass. I don't know what else to do. I have bought the beautiful book, "Credo" and I plan to get the Baltimore Catechism. I want to learn what I should have been taught. If you have any suggestions for a Catholic like myself, please let me know. God's blessings always on you and your family.

With regards to Arch Vigano my understanding is that what he is saying is that the Chair of Peter IS OCCUPIED BY A USURPER, not that the CHAIR is vacant. He is well measured and calm in all his statements, not to mention well informed, therefore in my opinion Highly unlikely to be ‘a bit over the top’ as he is so often described by many, including SSPX members etc a Society I attend as the only place nowadays one can receive True Sacraments and hear sound doctrine.

I cannot in good Catholic conscience attend a N.O. the prayers have changed like St Michael, prayers if consecration and transubstantiation etc. have been omitted purposely. The churches have been sacked and look like stadium seating, bells are gone, statues, the King of Kings is no longer front and center with a light. So many changes post V2 are innumerable to list.

@@DysmasOfBabylon So, what is the point of having a pope if one is free to disregard what he says? If Mr. Bergoglio is pope, then an apostate, idol-worshipper and heretic is pope. The truth of what he has done and what he has professed cannot be disregarded because the corrupt hierarchy declares he is pope. Anytime anyone recognizes Mr. Bergoglio as pope, I believe, they are obligated to say that they call on him to repent and make public reparations for his idolatry and heresies. Just calling him pope implies we must be obedient and follow him. If you wish to say he is a valid pope who may be disregarded, you must explain why. It is far easier to say that an apostate, idol-worshipper is not pope than to confound the moral order to say that he is pope, but may be disregarded. Before you can reestablish the rights of Christ the King, you have to rediscover the rights of the Christ the King, in fact you must rediscover Christ himself. Today's hierarchy does not know who Christ is. They put before us a fake Christ, just take a look at the art. You can see so much when you look at how Christ is depicted in modern church art. Contrast that to how He has been traditionally depicted. I would argue that Christ himself needs to be rediscovered. As long as Catholics can continue to receive Our Lord on the hand and priests everywhere can distribute Holy Communinion in such a dangerous and vulgar way, they cannot easily know who Our Lord is.

@@carolynkimberly4021 So you are calling God a heretic? And that what He says goes against reason? I would read the new testament. Especially Romans. And I would be very cautious about how you speak about God. God doesn't take kindly to people mocking HIm. Paul teaches in Romans that when Jesus fulfilled the law that the law ended. Paul even tells us that the law was tore down. Those are pretty strong words if you ask me. Paul then teaches that if there is no law then you can't sin. You can try reading romans7:1-6. Romans 4:15, the law only brings punishment on those who try to obey it. The only way to avoid breaking the law is to have no law to break. Paul even teaches that he stopped trying to follow the law. So the only heretics are catholics. They teach a different Gospel. God bless

Genesis2 God tells Adam and eve that they are not to eat the fruit or they would die. So the only requirement for Adam and eve was to have faith alone. So God's message never changed. It's catholic heretics that changed and deserted God. The passage even the just man falls seven times bit doesn't mean what you think. It doesn't mean that all just men fall or that they fall seven times. It has the equivalent meaning of its hard to keep a good man down. But if you want to go further it says that all it takes is 1 stumble to keep a sinner down. So what all this means is that good men persevere while bad men or sinners don't. Sinners quit while good men fight to the end. So you are not availing yourself to anything there. Do you believe the bible is the word of God? My guess is yes That means the apostles who wrote the bible had to know and understand God in order to teach us about God. 1john3;6 tells us that sinners don't know God or understand Him. That means the apostles were not sinners. It also means the apostles were not catholics.
