As someone with both ADHD and anxiety, fidget spinners ain't dead, they just have a lot more competition. The fidget toy market is booming. And, yes, they actually do definitely help. Why? It's a controlled form of stimming, which is a self-soothing action that people naturally do. Fidget toys are very much good for stimming and prevent me from doing junk like tearing stuff up and chewing on stuff or picking at my skin. I could not function at work without my fidgets. The fidget spinners I have are now just multi-purpose, like they got pop-its or wacky tracks attached.

I had a personal vendetta against these because I was always made fun of and bullied for having fidget toys.....until these got popular. Suddenly everyone who had made me go home sobbing wanted to be my friend because they wanted to play with my fidgets. Then when they got banned, they all turned on me again and would try to tell on me (the teachers already knew I needed them so luckily I was fine). I've gotten over it now because obviously it's not the fault of a piece of spinning plastic, but that whole trend seriously hurt me.

I was 15 in 2017 and i remember literally EVERYONE(well, everyone except for me and a few others😅) around my age had fidget spinners and used them all the time, to the point it became annoying seeing them. At the same time though, it stopped bothering me after a while cause i knew it was a trend and it would die out after a few years.

And one time the teacher caught my friends using my fidget spinner and they apologized many times to me for losing it.
