I had an experience managing an artist in 2020. If i had a chance to try to break an artist from ground zero now that I’m not dirt poor i would: 1. Focus on Creating Quality Music 2. Prioritize Branding with Image, Brand and Presentation across DSPs, Social Media. 3. Prioritize learning how to communicate and engage with audience, developing a strong relationship with the fanbase. 4. Learn how to do cheap content that moves on social media 5. Put Money into Ads optimized for social media growth 6. Do shows/meetups/livestreams with audience built from fan development 7. Influencer Campaign for song(s) that receives most reception from catalog

Dope. A lot of these are important points. Is this something you’d do with every type of artist or only a specific kind?

You guys don't know how valuable y'all are to indie/DIY artists. I promise one day y'all will have me on the show to discuss how I blew up as an artist and how I also blew up the artists on my label.

Absolutely agree with your thoughts on the reason for artists failure and the steps to breaking an artist. It's so important for artists to stay true to themselves and not let industry pressures change their sound or style. I also love that you brought up Tyler Perry as an example of someone who broke through despite not fitting into any specific label or genre. It just goes to show that with hard work and determination, anyone can make it in the industry. Keep up the great content, can't wait for the next #NoLabelsNecessary episode!

thanks for these gems Brandman Network 💎🤯🙏🏽 i love the perspective yall gave on creating value first then proving that value, as well as the list for how to break an artist, makes me reflect on what stage in my career im at, and im around the content stage and developing that, looking forward to grow my socials as well as exercise my live performance muscles since my music is getting more refined as an artist 👨🏽‍🎨

I love the quality of information that you all share! Been following you guys since 2020 after I won an artist song review on one of your videos (Song: Judi Ciryl-Too Late). I have really dope music and a consistent work ethic. I just don't know how to break into sync yet or where to start networking for solid relationships in this business! I need help!

I would definitely give a label most, if not all royalties from one project if it meant getting to take full advantage of their resources to get me exposure
