I had to let go of doing everything on my own, realizing that it was rooted in pride- I wanted to say I did it all by myself. But when I understand that none of this is about me on a personal level (just esoterically/spiritually speaking), and I’m just a vessel working toward something bigger than me, it allows for me to open up and receive the community for me in order for all of our gift to serve a purpose. And then I can focus on parts I was actually called to pursue, while working to sculpt the rest of the vision with the people who are called to build with me. This is just my “AH-HA” moment from this video. Im grateful for all of y’all’s content :)!

Yo mad respect to you guys I love the format of y’all conversations. I feel like y’all fr givin insight from the business side of music. Me and my homies are a DIY rap group and we record, mix, and master our music. I’ve started to dive into the marketing side and social media and trying to better understand ads so it’s nice to hear thoughts from people actually doin it! Props to y’all and thanks for the content

The first topic is where I’m at currently. I’m doing everything myself , and I’m realizing that on top of working a full time job , I can’t do everything myself. I can’t do promo , cover art , and lyric videos on top of recording , mixing and mastering myself. So I’ve decided to reach out and build my own way of making things easier. I also pay rent at my own apartment and have bills , so money to pay someone else for their work/effort is hard to find right now. I’m still trying to generate a way where I can be of value to them. I have friends but they have jobs / school / kids. Or they don’t have an interest/ hustle to help me out in a way where it would also benefit them. I have people who put my name in conversations, which is kind of like an outsourced manager , since I can’t talk to every single person. I’m working / networking with producers while still also using KZbin beats ( I’m trying to find just 1-5 producers to work with consistently ). I’m using a service for lyric videos , and using the same guy because he just gave me a FIRE lyric video. I’m reaching out to DJs to see how to get on Radio/talk radio shows. I’ve tried to get other musicians and artists around me to understand how to brand , develop themselves and schedule releases .. everyone just wants to collaborate and drop music with no true marketing other than ‘ Here’s a link to my song ‘. I’m 10 months in and it’s a real journey / struggle. I’m on the side of ‘ I guess I’ll do it all myself ‘

I’m also on the same type of energy / time Rick Ross is on. No one , other than 1 other artist I know who himself have a team , is working as hard as me. People want time off and breaks. . Nah man. ‘ I’m not inspired today , I’m tired ‘ fuck that. This is my entire life here. How can we be of benefit to both of us. I NEED this , this is my LIFE , so HOW can we do this to where we BOTH grow quickly and worth of being shown ! We’re partners on the same team.

What if you don't have the funds and you learn to do everything yourself over time, and then you break through the resistance because you were persistent, and now that you got the process down you no longer need anyone else, because you have done all of the work.

That’s cap, you can do it all yourself, does a team help? Sure, but you can pack your own AR15 for protection and put on your own damn tuxedo for business meetings

Let me see if I got this right: use your analytics to target your marketing campaign dirctly to the region/demographic that is listening to your song. That would mean you have to post at least a few songs to know where your audience might be.

Artist are sensitive bout receiving genuinely free info. Yall should start the podcast from increasingly ridiculous locations like the back of a uber. Bruh man Sean picks up AndIm Kohrey. Then walk into the room. THEN start the pod. Maybe accept brandman network artists as the opening theme song for the pod on a rotating tues/thurs

I went to a NY Comedy show and the comedians from Nick Cannon Wild n Out was there it was only 6 people in there and they rocked it out . They all performed regardless of the poor attendance. I forgot the name of there real skinny comedian he was super funny. My sister has extra big breast so you know she got it. But it was all in good fun.
