After living outside the US for a while, it's frightening to see the level of gun violence happening in a first-world country. I think not only adding parental accountability but adding parental rights needs to happen. In my state a Mom and Dad can see their child needs counseling for anger management and the child can refuse treatment. What does a parent do when they need outside resources to help a child effect change? A parent can't use any form of corporal discipline, detain them at home (in the old days it was called restriction), insist on counseling or rehab. With so many kids without fathers parents need help because like it or not children need fathers.

Efforts should be made to tap into their skills and talents. We all have them. Give them something constructive to do. Rec centers should be open 7 days a week with constructive activities. Develop internships, job training , independent living skills hard skills like resume writing, how to find a job and soft skills that teach conflict resolution, anger management. Also aggresively addressing mental health which is often overlooked. You will be surprised, some of these children might benefit.

I want children to be required to go to school daily when they are ages 2 to 11 years ago an not at ages 8 to 18 years of age schools for children are just mainly child care center that teach children mostly basic survivor skills and never to go to school after age 11 so that they never fight, ,rape, harass, assault or stalk each other and not take liquor or drugs. All children must learn to behave responsibly at all times!!!!
