I hope to hear some 3rd person stories in the future. I miss the old days when most creepypastas were in 3rd person. 1st just gets so old after a few years.
@vanessaashford92033 жыл бұрын
it's because these stories all come from r/nosleep, which for some reason everyone thinks means they have to write in first person only, even if there's no actual rule saying so and people who do write stuff in 3rd or even 2nd person get by just fine
@fairsaa79753 жыл бұрын
@@vanessaashford9203 r/nosleep has a rule that says you can't have a 3rd person story without 1st person framing device.
@vanessaashford92033 жыл бұрын
@@fairsaa7975 the rule as it stands (at least last I checked, and based on what types of stories are accepted) really just means you have to have a narrator figure if its 3rd person, but that's really not that hard to pull off, and people get away with playing pretty fast and loose with it (like having the narrator be an unspecified figure who seems to know everything about the events, but has some kind of disposition to what's going on as well). Personally, I don't think it's hard to do this, but people seem to shy away from it often nonetheless, and part of that might also be that any story where even the narrator's place in the events isn't perfectly spelled out to the audience seems to get a lot of hate these days from people complaining how it "isn't realistic" (which I find absurd, because people are totally willing to sacrifice realism or believability in all these other areas, like a character who is literally on the verge of death making sure to write out their whole life story in florid detail, but any even slight experimentation with narrative loses them somehow)
