Any diesel - Check #1 - Just turn the oil cap such that the lock is not engaged - This will allow the oil cap to sit (Good Crank case pressure) or bob up and down (Poor, positive, crankcase pressure) - Positive crankcase pressure pushes oil into the intake and causes excessive oil consumption. Now that being said the D4-D (1KD) is not that difficult to fix that issue and give trouble-free life _but_ a neglected diesel is still a neglected diesel :-) That 2016 should do you well - Use good oil (Synthetic) - Make sure you are using proper coolant (Not water - Flush and refill with coolant if it is water now) and just let the turbo spin down with oil flow after driving (2 to 3 min idle after parking should do it) and you can get over 500,000km with our a rebuild on that 1KD

i need the manual stick shift 4x4 its a deal breaker for me. nice truck though! i rented a 2013 3.0 4x4 i crossed a flooded out river in it. i live in arizona so i love 4x4 i had a tona in honduras my buddies introduced me to it.

thanks man. 2012 cost 648k and 2016 cost 756k in Cordoba. Prices are high in Nicaragua due to shortage of new trucks. Used market went up.

Nice! thank you for watching! You will need PCR test done in Honduras. Make sure that the PCR test results have a QR code. If you do not have a QR code on the results they will not let you in. You can find a Lab in tegucigalpa Honduras. Good luck!

@@EmenseCoffee i see in Mexico it's possible to buy a NEW Toyota Hilux for about 30-35k USD. why not buy a new one in Mexico and drive it down to Nicaragua?

​@@MARPSTE Nicaragua has very high taxes on importation of new trucks. Around 35% of the trucks value, plus other fees and wasted time to register it here.. Good question but's cheaper to buy them here to save on duty's and time.
