I love all languages (well, almost :)), but JavaScript is like English - everyone knows it, has to know it, and understand it. Most likely, you'll end up dealing with it even if you're developing embedding systems in something like Rust, Zig, C++, or another language. The same can't be said for any other language.

Regardless of speed, compiled or interpreted, JS is the least elegant language out there. Not just it's design, but along with its prototype inheritance and package management etc, just to name a few.
