I quit drinking a few years ago for basically the same reason. Alcohol is a depressant and it causes inflammation so I feel way better without it.

I’m 15 years sober this year. I quit drinking because I realized I had a problem. I was so bad I was drinking all day, even at work. It got to the point I couldn’t function without alcohol. I woke up one day and realized that wasn’t the life I wanted for myself. Now here I am all these years later, I sometimes look back and think if I hadnt quit when I did I wouldn’t have the things and people in my life I do now. Shortly after stopping drinking I met my husband, we have three wonderful kids, a house…all the things. Who knows what would have happened to me if I didn’t quit, I might not be here now. I’m not against people drinking, when it starts to run your life is when there is a problem.

We quit drinking too! It is so bad for your health. Proud of you Oscar. It is funny because everywhere I look now, there is alcohol and it seems so dumb. It doesn't bring good into anyone's life. There is nowhere to go but down when you drink. Don't let the devils juice play with your soul. It is only up from there once you quit. Keep soaring high. 🤗

I've recently discovered I have a really bad drinking intolerance. I knew I always had worse hangovers than everyone else but seeing everyone go about their day and I can't even move or stop throwing up for 24 hours straight was a huge wake up call for me. And the last time I got drunk, I woke up with a alcohol rash that just went away after like 6 months! So thank you so much for this video, and for showing us that you don't have to drink to have fun. This is still a journey I am on, but I am finding it easier and easier to say no to it. ✨

Yesss! I am 149 days sober today. I wanted to quit drinking over a year ago and would stop for a week or 2 or a month here and there. I am so so happy i finally just stopped. I thank God often for this. Life is so much better

im sober since September and god I miss it. but im an addict (to narcs) so I had to give up drinking as well so I can treat my bipolar properly lols its so good to see people making that choice without being forced into sobriety like me lmao my body screams for it still and im starting to think that ache will never go away. all I can say is don't get addicted, and that's to anyone reading this. im only about to turn 23, I've got the rest of my life to suffer with this and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. proud of you Oscar.

I'm 65 and enjoy watching your your vlogs. Because your so down to earth and honest. My husband was a alcoholic. Addiction runs in our family. He passed a few years ago. I wish he had gave the drinking up. We were married 37 years. He died of a heart attack but also drinking had ruined his liver.

I went through the same thing, recovering from a night drinking was so mentally and physically draining for me, and I was definitely over indulging. I didn’t struggle with the addiction aspect like some people do so I’ll still have a glass of wine here and there, but man it is so liberating that I can go DAYS without even thinking about alcohol now.

I haven't had a drop of alcohol my whole 35 year life and I have never felt like I "missed out" or anything like that. I can have fun without it. :) It's not for any religious reasons or anything like that, I just grew up around too many alcoholics to ever want to try it. Good for you for seeing what is the best thing for you right now, and following that no matter what other people might think!

I think people have very different responses to alcohol and the problem is really how it affects our brains. If you are lucky enough to have insight that it Is causing havoc in your life you are right to stop!

I feel like since turning 30, drinking gives me the blues for days afterwards, and I just can't have that with my kids. Literally just bought an alcohol free wine and wow... Was just as good and I felt amazing next day! Good job on cutting the booze for a better you ☺️

I honestly think drinking responsibly is about knowing your limits and for some people that limit it zero and theres nothing wrong with that. it also doesnt have to be a permanent decision you can just listen to your body and do what you know is right for you. simple as that.

I feel the same way about effects of alcohol. I have way more fun without it. I hope some of your friends catch on too. I've had to deal with alcoholics in my life and they all started out social drinking and now they are suffering from alcoholism. It takes over your life in a horrible way. I applaud you for your decision. Not many people think of it so logically. I had a brief stint with alcohol when I was 19/20. Was going through something one night and decided to drink my sorrows away with my friends, got so sick (and had class the next morning) that I swore NEVER again. Not never drink again, just never get drunk again. I will have a drink at a restaurant with a meal from time to time. And that's about it. Probably equals about 2 drinks per month. I don't mind being around my friends drinking, but because of other reasons (from childhood) I cannot be around drunk people. It triggers me bad. But sometimes people just can't handle that you don't want a drink.

I think your not drinking right not is a great decision. You have different priorities and your putting them first. Plenty of time for you to have a drink or two when you have achieved some of your goals. Oscar you have fun under any circumstances. 💖🥰👍
