In the past people had no time to get "lost", they had to team up with imperfect partners and neighbors and paddle hard to just survive. "Getting lost" is a luxury good, basement boys cannot fully appreciate how sheltered and privileged life must be for them to get lost in philosophising and self pity.

I'm 53, and I'm still working on "meaning in life", etc. It's quite the difficult issue. It's getting worse in modern times. One concept that I'm seeing lately is that HUMANITY is way off track from anything resembling harmony with the Earth and Nature. What these smarty pants people can't seem to grasp is that we DO NOT need more and more. If anything humans have been pushing for progress so badly, that all humans haven't even had the time needed to adapt to so many new things and changes. We're nowadays born into chaos. What I think we need is way more people making a movement to get AWAY from pure Capitalism. That does not mean that I think we should be Socialist or Marxist. I think some kind of slower, peaceful, merit system combined with full health and food and basic needs for ALL PEOPLE ON THE PLANET. Major hurdles are religion and money/power mongers.

I agree with what you say... but is utopia. I wish it was possible, however, life is competition and, if one country decide to focus more mental health instead of materialistic progress.. they may get invaded and ruled by those who want power. It sux, but we didn't grow enough as a species to live in world without power, greed, domination, competition..

A helpful question to ask yourself is: “how can I be of greatest service to the whole?” You don’t have to have the perfect answer right now, it unfolds more clearly as you walk your path. Pursue things that interest you, focus on learning and opportunities will come. Also with an emphasis of doing the inner work.
