They wouldn't have enough time without delaying it further, and they're already in trouble with the CCP. If they aren't careful, they can get into actual financial trouble, so it's often better to accept what you're able to get away with and use it to your advantage. IDV has a record getting in trouble with the CCP, especially with their censorship guidelines, so they might've gotten careless/thought it would've been fine without too much research.

To be fair its a ridiculous standard. Two fictional characters loosely based on real individuals who happened to be anti-china shouldn't be something of concern, and I doubt its easy info. IDV probably just assumed the characters were, you know, fictional.

I was frustrated that we couldn’t get the skins with frags, but it makes sense why. Lots of people forget netease is a company and so is the company behind BSD. If they had the skins as frags they’d lose money because everyone would just buy the skin with frags. They already lost a lot of money because of the delays and having to remove two complete characters so making the skins frags would lose them more money.

They probably noticed that previous collab skins (Edward scissorhands and junji ito) didn’t provide them enough money for both companies since everyone most likely just bought the skins with frags. That’s why they wouldn’t do the frags things again. Also this collab was not suppose to go this badly, they lost more money now due to all the issues with the characters and stuff, if they gave all the characters out for free or gave an s tier character out for free, they would lose the way more money that way.

I actually found this out before the crossover was released (few days prior to it) and to be honest as a long term player of IDV the game never really has much excuses for many things. Though this time, they at least have an accurate excuse for something because if you think about it, it’s not their fault entirely. China is very strict like how they want to keep everything the same for generations so a lot of pressure is put upon younger generations, and yes I’m aware Japan has this type of strict policy too. So to put it briefly, the devs only got rid of the two characters because their authors had political problems with the Chinese government. Politics are politics so you can’t really complain about it and so I won’t since I’m grateful with what we got even if some long term or new players are complaining.

I never understood why they had to remove them in global as well. The only issue I can see would be the chinese angry with only 3/5 of the characters. But, China gets stuff global doesn't all the time. So I just don't understand.

Is the bsd anime banned in China? If not, then this CCP scandal seems incredibly sus as the source of this problem stems from the original anime/manga itself. Other than that I'm on NE's side for once this time and while I am sad Yosano and Doppo can't be released, NE has some real issues to deal with that are more important than a couple of skins.

What I mean is that it's weird that the CCP jumped onto a mere crossover out of everything instead of dealing with the original issue if the BSD anime/manga is not banned there. Also the entire reason Death Note wasn't put in the CN server was because the anime is banned there but if the BSD made it to CN, then I can only assume the anime/manga isn't banned? It would also explain why Netease added those characters in game despite their background because if the original source material didn't have any CCP related problems with it, why should they?)

I’m sorry, but I support this. The Japanese were very cruel invaders to all the people they conquered across East and Southeast Asia.
