I think that unexplained illness was probably a failed attempt to kill her. This is so sad. The only think I can think is that he spent the weekend with her and her family and became jealous of how close they were. Not sure how a person can love someone one minute and the next hate them... his friends (that were supposedly her friends too) could have saved her life if they had just told the police or her mother. Unpopular opinion: The mom could've done a lot more as a *parent* to teach her daughter how to spot warning signs in a manipulative and abusive partner. That wasn't just some normal teenage boy behavior. She told her mother the kinds of rumors he spread about her and saw how he hurt her... and yet her mother happily giggled with Rebecca about possibly getting back together with him? Teach your daughter self respect and you could've saved your daughters life.
@tvdforever5569

Kat Rabbit I wouldn’t say the mom could’ve saved her really.... you really can’t escape the inevitable, once you cross paths with a psycho it’s hard to escape. His plan was to kill her, one way or another he would have killed her.sad.
@faze194
@faze194 4 жыл бұрын
@@katrabbit that's just how teenagers are. I'm not defending that behavior or anything, but I'm in high school and that's how immature students act. They're your friend one day, they talk bad about you the next and want to be best friends right after. And he also adjusted his behavior before he texted her to meet up. He was nice to her again, they were friends again. You don't think anything of it, it's normal behavior for teenagers. Again, I'm not saying that's okay, but you really can't blame her. She mostly saw good in him.
@katrabbit
@katrabbit 4 жыл бұрын
@@faze194 It's not normal. Just please know that right now, the things he did were not normal high school boy things to do. And to accept that thinking is exactly what continues the horrible behavior. If you know boys at your school right now who treat girls like this I urge you to start recording it and take it to a higher authority immediately as that is harassment among other things that should not be tolerated or allowed to just diminish on its own. I understand where you're coming from. Because as a teenager you don't know any better unless you've seen true horrible people and been taught at a young age that you can't trust everyone. Unfortunately that's exactly what I mean by the fact her mother should have stepped in, she should have been able to recognize the warning signs and gotten that young man some help or kept her daughter away from him for good at the least. A trouble loving, manipulative teenage boy turns into an abusive, angry adult man if he doesn't get checked real quick.

People suspect he may have Narcissistic Personality Disorder. So it could be that he wanted to break up with her (probably because he likes to have power over other people) so to see her sad and to ruin her life, but when she recollected herself and was relatively happy even without him, he became furious.
@samanthaM7119
@samanthaM7119 4 жыл бұрын
He’s a narcissist who needed to feel like he had control. She made him happy, so he broke up with her to have the higher ground and when she was finally happy that was when he needed to wipe her out. I’m not sure why he singled her out, he probably saw her a weaker and it’s heartbreaking. He ended the life of a friend, daughter, sister and lover because he couldn’t handle not having control of her. Also, I think he poisoned her and that’s why he didn’t care when she was in the hospital.

Hi I was wondering if you would cover a case I've been thinking a lot about recently. It's extremely close to home and makes me feel so sick but basically a family I knew was murdered when I was in primary school. They lived on my street literally about 10 houses down from me . One of the boys (Abbas) was in my class and they were killed by their own father as he believed their mum was having an affair. He planned it all. Everyone thought they would be going on a family holiday together,including the kids and the Mum but it turns out he booked a one way ticket elsewhere for himself. He murdered them all,tied the mum up and forced her to watch him murder their children before killing her,then fled the country. It took a whole month for the bodies to be discovered because the neighbors complained about a horrible smell and when they opened the letter box it stunk and there was flies everywhere. I don't think any of us understood when we was that little what actually happened to our classmate,it was all over the news but it just didn't register. we went back after the school holidays (when the murder was carried out) we had an assembly and planted 3 trees on the field (1 for each of the children) and we wrote messages in two big books to give to the Grandparents. Abbas' best friend never came back to school either bc it was too much for him so his family moved away. None of us ever spoke of it again bc we were so young we just didn't understand and now I'm older I've looked into it and it's broken my heart so much learning all the details of how they died.

Honestly I would also blame his friends, maybe I don't get it, but how could they even joke about killing someone? You never know what's in the other person's mind, even if it's your close friend and if someone I know, talked so much about killing a specific person, I know for sure it would raise a red flag for me. Instead of making dumb bets, they should've warned Rebecca or tried to prevent this meeting.. I don't know, anything, but for sure they didn't act right in this whole situation

They definitely should have seen the red flags in this situation. I don't see how this could become a running "joke". After hearing this for the second time, the average normal person would at least question what the hell is wrong with this person.

Its mental illness. I keep seeing comments saying pretty much the same thing as you. I was in her shoes with my first boyfriend, literally everything she went through I did too, up until being a victim of murder. The person who breaks it off and then begins to be malicious and hateful is mentally Ill. It's not a response a healthy person has, and it's sad more people dont know this. This is VERY common in abuse, and I can testify to this. It happened to me as a 13-15 year old living on a completely separate continent than Rebecca did.

Such an odd, heartbreaking case. Can you imagine how confused Rebecca was when Josh hit her the first time or pushed her or whatever he did first. Honestly so heartbreaking. And the sudden flip of his personality kinda makes you wonder if he ever liked her or if something happened to him that night? Either way, feel so sorry for her family, imagine your daughter being murdered by someone you welcomed into you own home 😕
