Many criminals get ideas from TV shows (in Breaking Bad they completely dissolved a body with acid). Or often they think you can turn a body to ashes just by lightning on an open fire (a very high temperature is actually needed, and the use of a type of furnace to achieve that temperature).

Ladies (and gents!), when you’re on a night out-stick together. Don’t leave each other, keep an eye out for each other. So many cases where people are out, drinking and then one wanders off, leaves or is left behind and they go missing. It doesn’t matter what country you’re in, or how safe you think it is-accidents can happen and obviously there are evil people out there looking to prey on people left alone. Stay together, have fun together, STAY SAFE together 💜

Literally we chem students use it often even though it’s corrosive u can spill it on urself and sometimes not even feel it. Even acids take a lot of time to dissolve human flesh. It a common myth that acid dissolves flesh very quickly but it’s literally just a Hollywood myth that movies show for emphasis. Even the most corrosive acids and alkalis don’t dissolve bodies immediately when exposed to flesh. Xx I love ur vids so much I listen to them when revising for my chem degree.

saponification occurs as the end result of the alkali's effect on the dead body. It turns into a soap-like consistency and the human fat literally does become soap. It doesn't need pressure or heat for this to occur.

So weird I was only talking about this case last week. Karen went to my uni, albeit different schools at the uni. I know a few people that knew Pacteau, they all said he was really weird but would always throw parties when he had an empty house. He just seemed desperate to be popular. His younger siblings had to change schools and identities so that they wouldn’t be targeted in retaliation to him.

I’m so glad you acknowledged how badly this affected Scotland and especially Glasgow. This was a horrifying case and I think Glaswegians struggled with the fact this had happened. me and my girlfriends have certain rules that we stick to when going out, especially when people around you are drinking. 1. go to the bathroom in pairs. 2. always make sure you have a small purse which you have on you even while dancing. ( id phone and mace spray) 3. we make sure at least one person is sober (i dont drink so it is usually me) to make informed decisions 4. always know how you can safely return home. avoid public transport at odd times.(my case, i drive everyone home, make sure the are inside the building and then leave) 5. if you catch your drunk friend dancing with someone creepy, take her away. 6. have a group chat in which everyone drops texts whenever the estimated time of arrival is over in case you are taking an uber. 7. we make sure we call someone purposely to make the uber driver know the location and ride is being monitored.

WHY THE SODIUM HYDROXIDE DIDN’T WORK; My google history looks suspicious, but I found out why the sodium hydroxide didn’t work! You actually need to heat it for it to dissolve a body. If pressurized you can get the heat to 300°F and dissolve it in a couple (2-4) hours. If not pressurized you can only get it to about boiling point (212°F) and it can take much longer but still dissolve it within a day.

A friend of HER work friend was meant to be joining us out there, and she had travelled on her own. Her phone wasn’t working either due to provider issues. Come 2am she still hadn’t arrived. I can’t tell you the sickness I felt and I didn’t even know the girl! I cried for about 2 hours until she eventually turned up! This case always makes me so sad. I was working in a Glasgow nightclub around this time and at the end of the night we would all carpool home. One of the girls lived in the house/cottage directly next to the farm, in order to turn around to go back down the country road after dropping her off we had to pull into the farm and pass the shed where her body was found.
