just purchased your book on Audible, and as a yogini on the path of spirituality for many years, I can tell you that I was searching DEEPLY, for something that held the answers I was seeking. Yet, I didn’t know fully exactly ‘what’ questions needed to be answered….. only that my quest in searching kept me seeking for the answers I didn’t yet know I needed, but somehow intuitively were desired and I trusted were out there somewhere and would come to me when the time was right. This book, is the end of ‘searching’ for me. I’m only through chapter One so far and have already experienced life-changing, unbelievably SWIFT, transformative experiences and deep shifts/upgrades in consciousness. One would think this would take YEARS and years of study, and in some ways, it took years for me to find but the quickness for these teachings to imprint my heart and soul with newfound confidence, EASE and trust is just absolutely blowing my mind at how EASY it can be to acquire what we ‘need’ to liberate ourselves on the path. I am remembering so so so much, so EASILY through these teachings and your translations of them. This book came to me at a time when I desiring and needing a complete RESET of my mind, consciousness, subconscious, etc. and I know for certain, after hearing it’s message that what I was seeking, was seeking me too. I am feeling renewed and reinvigorated by life again and so confident of my place in it. These messages have provided such powerful CLARITY for me, unlike any other spiritual teaching I’ve learned thus far in my journey. This has had the most impact for being easy for my soul to recognize and remember. Your work has changed and improved my life, and I’m only through chapter One!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭 I cannot wait to continue feeling into and absorbing and being with this work of art you’ve remastered and provided for us. I feel a clear path towards wholeness and confusions I held inside have now melted away, that is largely due to your work, your mastery. THANK YOU, Christopher, there are no words really that can do justice to the immense gratitude I feel for receiving and integrating this wisdom. It’s like you say, about the woman who goes to the dock, the remembrance is so so so clear for me now. Buzzing and brimming with newfound sense of wonder and clarity on the path. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being here and sharing your passions and wisdom with us! Infinite blessings and Namaste!

I've added the text to those that might have influenced George Gurdjieff in his construction of the concept of Self-Remembering. Recogimiento of Francisco de Osuna being another. Have you come across Zen master Bankei. The Tarot Fool is of similar nature in that it's an example of self-reference, his a card, which has a face & a backside & belongs to a pack, also Diogenes, "Know Thyself!". Love Francis of Assisi's quote "What you are looking for, is what is looking!"

Hello Hareesh, I'm currently reading this book (also have read Tantra Illuminated), and you're right. The message of Pratyabhijñā-hṛdaya seems to be simple and you are slicing and dicing it in different ways to see what might stick (with the reader). Also, I appreciate Kshema's critical approach to his own theories. What I find missing is the answers to other big questions in life. For instance, take the problem of evil. I'm not sure how tanrika sutras deals with such topics. Can malevolent evil just be brushed off as a result of the ignorance of true-self? It seems like there is something more to such kind of evil. What are your thoughts on this subject?

If you're talking about evil, to me that indicates you are inquiring from a dualistic perspective, of which Kashmir Shaivism is not. I am not an expert in the Tantric texts, but you can assume that there is a nondualistic Vedic foundation underneath that purports a cosmology of polarities and differentials in the manifest world - as such good and evil are just projections of the mind, there's not essentially such a thing. If you're talking about evil in the practical context of someone who commits 'evil' actions - them karma is the divine system that arranges and settles all actions and entities involved. Awakening of Kundalini or the activation of the self-actualisation process is reliant on purification, so you can view evil from that point of view as a limitation to the true realisation of the Self and experiencing the world through a Universal spiritual perspective.

The audible was delightful . Not a fan of special effects, but the reverb served well. The other version in book form I like a lot is Peter Brown’s version: Essence of recognition...

Very interesting discourse Prof Wallis Ji. Thank you. The past couple of days I have been thinking about the question a young lady in the audience asked you about what makes it so difficult to be one with ourSelves if that is our natural state of being. I do agree, we humans tend to complicate our lives, however, I feel that our conditioning (social, traditional, political, cultural, religious, etc.) is the greatest obstacle. We are conditioned from the moment we take birth so whatever that conditioning is, as long as we believe that to be reality, we will never see ourSelves clearly. Just my two cents.

I'm on my third time through your AMAZING Recognition Sūtras! Is there a recording ANYwhere of the invocation to be chanted prior to each study/recitation? I've searched under "Kshemaraja's invocation," "Invocation to Recognition sutras" even using some of the transliteration of it. I find nothing. Wondering if there is a traditional melody. If not, maybe you could make a video of you chanting the invocation? Thank you so very much for your insight, your work, the incarnation of the ALL that is you! OM śāntiḥ.
