It's two things and neither are really his fault 1. He was injured beyond belief. We're talking neck, knees, shoulder, hernia, VERTIGO. You wanna say he wasn't the same, but he wrestled those Bryan and Hangman matches and had the Belt Collector run with goddamn vertigo. He deserves all the praise in the world for that. 2. His whole AEW run was about him wanting to put over Hangman. Since day 1 you could see it. He lost the big singles matches, tagged with Hangman and was then an unlikeable cowardly champion so that Hangman could be the hero of the story. So all in all, he hasn't been the same because he's been injured and selfless. He hasn't regressed as a wrestler one bit and the Ospreay match proved that he's still the Best Bout Machine

A thousand times yes to this content! This is how you get observers interested in how New Japan tells their stories with a legitimate big fight atmosphere as if it’s about to happen in the present day. So many possibilities to win people over with this format, the long story of Naito, Tanahashi vs Nakamura, Suzuki, Shibata, Prince Devitt, Nagata, Norton, Vader, Andre, Chono, Liger, Inoki. This is how people in the US understand how truly big these stars are to the world over, as well as shoot down the absurd notion said by ignorant casuals that there are no stories told in this company. It’s sometimes simplistic, but that doesn’t necessarily make it any less powerful. More ideas like this please! It addresses so many problems that come with international expansion and helps gives you further ways to invite the uninitiated to full blown fandom. Please sir, may we have some more?
@benschmelzer7748
@benschmelzer7748 6 жыл бұрын
AlwaysLookCool 729 One of the beauties of this idea is that it isn’t forced, or at the very least it doesn’t come off as such. Yes, you’re never going to win over everybody in general, but with this you’re going to make them understand which in turn will set up the foundation of emotional investment in the product that will only serve to grow in due time with patience. (ala a Paul Heyman sermon) Out of all the options they had for trying to expand through their KZbin channel in the states, this is arguably their best decision in terms of the many possibilities that this could lead to. In the grand scheme of themes, what’s the harm of failure on this as well? Who could not be a fan of low risk, high reward situations? And sure while not everyone can be a fan of the stories they tell, it seems like WWE absolutes are driving away their fans through their ham-fisted way of storytelling or lack there of, New Japan will naturally want to pick up the pieces, and not everyone may like it, but try to watch Showbuckle’s videos and tell me that you’re not impressed with this style. Something tells me that this company truly listens to their fans...
