From Washington DC, I flew to both Tulsa (BOK) and LA (Forum) to see Maiden. Of all the new songs, this was the one that mesmerized me in my tracks. A true beauty.

Yes this is the best song of Book of souls; and the best part of Maiden´s live shows is that they always plays the entire song. No matter how long and complex it is.
@elkardona8 жыл бұрын
LegettHall I'm like you in Maiden preferences, I like more complex than old songs, but I know Maiden with oldies and still love it.

steve harris's sounds so furious and wild! And for me is amazing the energy Janick has, the guy is dancing, jumping and fooling around enjoying the gig just like everyone in the crowd, he is one more kid, just like his guitar playing, pure wildness which by the way, I happens to like.

I have to say that the "Red and the Black" is my favorite song from "The Book of Souls". Seeing it performed live on April 6th in Chicago was incredible!!! Haven't missed a tour since 1982!!! Met them in 1988. UP-THE-IRONS!!!!
@sparkleninja3707 жыл бұрын
irene centille ... "The Red and the Black" has earned its rightful place next to the "holy trinity" of Maiden epics: 1) "Hallowed Be Thy Name" 2) "Phantom of the Opera" 3) "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" A stunningly and perfectly executed masterpiece.

Watching this video is like watching Led Zeppelin to the Nth power. Three master guitarists, a master drummer and the linchpin master bassist Steve Harris. Still together in 2024. Long live Iron Maiden and their fans.

Maiden does and composes what they do. Just like everyone else. Obviously Musicians are influenced by what they see, hear, and read just like everyone else. They might be guilty of sounding like something else on RARE occasions, but the VAST majority of the time, they sound like themselves. I can't think of too many other Bands which stay off drugs, don't get into trouble, appreciate their fans after 40 years like it was yesterday, compose intricate songs with multiple time changes, compose lyrics which teach Philosophy, Religion, Politics, Science Fiction, War, History, and Theology, spend NO time trashing other bands, do interviews, get involved with Charity work and Fund-Raising events, raised children, stay grounded in what they believe in, and fly around the World in their own 747 piloted by their own Frontman. Nope. I can't think of any other band who does all these things, and remain cool people. Up The Irons.

great seeing janick just loving life around 5:20. I agree that he needs to tone down some of his weirder on stage habits but at his best he brings a fantastic energy to the performances.
@jesusguerra10938 жыл бұрын
+wkr64691 Janick is tha man, so many great songs he has written for maiden, most notably on this album is title track, amazing job on that one and my personal favorite, janick's songs are the real deal man, dance of death, lord of the flies, dream of mirrors, the aftermath, and many many other just to name a few.

susanne williamsson the legacy, montsegur, out of the silent planet, the alchemist. while he may not write as much as Bruce, Steve, and Adrian, his compositions always bring something unique and energetic to the table. the crap he takes from some "fans" is shameful

wkr64691 I couldn´t agree more, I can´t understand why they are so dead set against him...I really think their music since the album Brave new world has improved so much....And I think Jannick has contributed tremendously...Their songs has been so much more intricate, complexed, and really gorgeous......

This song has been my favorite on TBOS album, but i am warming up to Empire of the Clouds. I wish they would do that song live. Look at how porky Dave Murray looks! He used to be so thin! The performance of this song was amazing, as usual. Did Bruce flip the bird to someone at around 5:21? Funny!
