The Red Flood Mod for HOI4 is Crazier Than You Think

Dread it, Run From It you can't avoid the schizo Hearts of Iron 4 mods. Red Flood is definitely up there in the craziness to the point where I don't know what's happening in the world, besides the countries I play as Austria and Kavkaz. Also trying to give HOI4 mods I never tried before a playthrough to do mod reviews of them. Definitely want to experiment with new stuff in the future.

The next update of Red Flood will apparently bring a lot of rebalances in addition to new content, Kavkaz will get nerfed a lot because it's terrifyingly OP currently. Also the current devs have a different "vision" for the mod than the people who developed the older versions, so you can expect things like paths making sense (though they will still be crazy) and not everything happening at the very beginning of the game. If anyone has any questions I'll try to answer, though I'm not a dev.

I really hope they don't change the lore too much because as is the mod is one of the few Alt history mod that make you feel as thought the world is actually different and not just "WW2 but..." and also peoples seem to forget that the 1930s had some of the craziest youth in history (it was more or less on the same level of schizo as 2020s gen Z) so the events of the mod are plausible imo

@@Panzermeiller I don't think the devs want to change the lore that much, especially when it comes to the general setup of the world. I follow the development of RF on discord, and there's a lot of interesting stuff shown there about future updates. The main difference from the old content is that now the devs look deeply into the countries and people they show in the game. This means that there will be more paths and the devs are trying not to make any boring. I'm personally hyped for the next update, which will rework France and Italy and add content to Spain and West African nations.

The only thing that i hate about this mod is.... when you play france There is a french focuse tree who would delete a singe infrastructure and also a civillian factory "in every single states" which is literally destroy half total of your ducking civillian factory 💀

The French focus tree, especially before NSB, is arguably one of the worst in terms of accurately representing what people accurately believed and an extensive rework of it has been in the works for months now. When it finally does drop, their will be an 'environmentalist' path, but it should be more faithful to the real people in the path, more balanced and less of a meme.

You have to try out the united provinces in the middle of India. A lot of great writing there, and it isn't totally overpowered, at least not if you don't decide to destroy the world by mass murdering literally everyone once you've reached the end of the first focus tree. Also the leader is a run-down, even more alcoholic Churchil, that is already enough rason to play it on its own.

so the lore of the mod diverges on 1920s. ww1 kinda just ends because we'll everyone was rlly tired of it. Germany communist revolution was actually successful. The artist movement, The Avant-garde, managed to somehow do a revelation. Le Patron is the leader of the artist revolution in France. America went rlly hard on the whole prohibition thing. That somehow made the great depression worse. The Russian revolution was pushed into the kacasus. and the world's water supply is spiked with small traces of lsd and cocane. ok that last part is probably not true. probably...
