What a delightful movie about racial harmony and what a love for the horse and a kindly man's affection to a foundling and a teacher's fight for racial fairplay for her student can achieve however badly the natives are treated in general. A well-meaning movie that can hasten racial reconciliation though the movie depicts a scenario far removed from the reality of Carlisle schools and Cahadian Jesuit schools that have tried to erase the memories of native language and culture from native children through forcible separation from their parents and grooming them up in white mores and languages. Hats off to little Juan Gonzalez for his sensitive acting in the role as Frankie, the Indian foundling. A must watch for all children of all ethnicities if not their parents as well.

I just realized that I’ve watched this movie once before. However, I remember that I enjoyed it very much. I’m at the part of the movie where the kind man had taken the little boy to his own home and given him something to eat. Although the boy won’t talk to him, he keeps talking to the boy and tells him some rules that he must respect and what’s expectes him to do in return. 😊😊😊😊
