I've loved Red Green for years. A northern friend introduced me when I lived down in Texas. Loved it so much I bought the boxed set on dvd and introduced my kids (they're grown)... shared with my parents too. Fun family entertainment!
@samuellasky77712 жыл бұрын
I find this episode really sweet. Dare I even say, there's a certain amount of cinematography here. Dalton is helplessly stuck inside a large animal trap, has a toothache, has been living in the woods like an animal for a few days, can't even bring himself to face his own wife. And Red doesn't belittle him, he shows genuine care for Dalton as a friend, and talks with him to help him figure out what to do next. And then Dalton asking Red to come with him - to put himself out there and say "I can't do this alone, I need your help", and showing that he trusts Red enough to make himself vulnerable like that, really shows how close these two really are. Dalton /never/ makes himself vulnerable if he can help it. To be literally trapped like a wild animal, and then be strong enough to admit he needs help, really might be the manliest thing Dalton's ever done in the series

Please write more of these character analysis on other episodes. I love this. Examining these characters is so fun! Each of them strongly represents a different kind of disorder. Mike is obviously a kleptomaniac and has very low self esteem, Dalton is obviously depression, Hap is insecurity, Winston is delusion and a workaholic, Ed is fear and acceptance.

My father was unable to put his car in his garage from 1979 until 1991 because of junk addiction. He had to buy a new house before he could make it happen. And even then, it was only because the stuff in the garage went straight into his new basement. I've totally inherited his problem. However, my house doesn't have a garage.

A first: one of the secondary characters being part of the main plot! Ed getting his chance to shine outside of the word game, experts segment, and his animal control segment is needed for him to show he’s not just a joke character. Too bad Hap didn’t get that kind of chance but he’s fine as it is

Many don’t like Ed Frid. All of these characters were designed by Rick Green and Steve Smith. Harold is their greatest creation. Well done Pat McKenna. All of these roles are brilliant. I love them all, even Buzz.
@colemanadamson59434 жыл бұрын
The actor playing Ed Frid did an excellent job but the character was poorly written. The previous incarnation of the animal control expert was a better character. EDIT: main attribute being he was oblivious to danger .... opposite of what they did with the character later with Ed Frid.
@fireballxl-57483 жыл бұрын
@@colemanadamson5943 Revisiting later.....Winston was a great character but somewhat overused. This was Ranger Gord's best episode IMO.
