Did any other chevy guys notice the 1980 camaro ad at 4:56? It says it has a 2:56 po rear end and was a street rod. I know first hand a diff with gearing that high isn't good for anything but cruising on the highway not being a street rod. I had a buddy with a 87 IROC camaro 350 that had a 2:73 and it couldn't even spin tires because it was geared too high.

ALL cars made in the U.S. after 1971were road pigs. Emissions standards caused reductions in horsepower to the point where even Corvettes were rated at under 200 hp...so it doesn't surprise me that your friends Camaro couldn't spin the tires. Most cars back then had trouble getting out of their own way.
