I've had this moment... I'm almost done! Only 12 more attacks to go! Three left an-- oh... healer had them already... I was gonna! I swear! As a healer in our static I totally excuse my RDM when they say, "15 seconds! My burst!" I gotchu, fam. I know the pain.

Meanwhile me watching a full party die and still alive as an RDM. First comes lucid dreams then rezzing a tank with acceleration + verraise (magick barrier and crappy heals if necessary so they dob't go back into a dead state, then healer accelerarion + verraise, swiftcast + verraise another rdm as this can be even more vital then an extra tank or healer or healer if none, then vercure + verraise healer or tank depending if tank mechanics need that tank up and and for the other unless what we need is dps then I pick up the other dps as quickly as possible and sometimes if necessary I make sure dps arecup depending hoe much the dps needed or that extra tank. This process continue til eveeyone is up and yoy pretty much have no mp left at all struggling to regain until melee combos or another lucid dreaming.

I LOVE Red Mage, it's the class I've been maining for a while, though I'm only at 85 still. My biggest issue is I get into such a flow, then I start to get my big combo going and realize I stopped paying attention to the boss mechanics and the entire party is running to the other side of the arena. I have to choose to let my final Flare out, or choose death. It often ends in both. Lol.

I just got RDM to 90 today myself (it's been my main Job ever since it first released, I used Black Mage to get to 50 to unlock RDM, and never looked back), and now I'm working on getting SGE to 90 as well (SGE is at 88 for me atm), as those have become my two main Jobs that I pretty regularly "bounce" between. The only Role I'm still not comfortable with and have to learn is Tank. I love how the RDM can be the "safety net" for an entire party. I still remember one run of Orbonne during the fight with Ultima, just after the chaotic mess that is Famfrit, Belias, & Hashmal doing all of their crap at once, Alliances B & C were pretty much fine (they'd each lost at most one person), but Alliance A (my Alliance)? My Alliance got absolutely decimated, with me as our sole RDM being one of only two survivors (the other being our BRD). We'd lost our Tank, both Healers, and more than half of our DPS. Within the span of time between the three previous bosses dealing with Famfrit, Belias, & Hashmal and the "Ultimate Illusion" phase starting I was able to get our Tank, both Healers, and two of our 3 DPS back on their feet in time for them to be ready for Ultimate Illusion. The only DPS I wasn't able to revive in time was our NIN, both because I'd burned all of my MP (and Lucid Dreaming) getting everyone else up and their body was all the way on the other side of the map. I did manage to revive our NIN during Ultimate Illusion though. And after Ultimate Illusion was over, Alliance Chat started lighting up with comments like "Red Mage Best Job." and "I think you mean Rez Mage". Getting that kind of praise and recognition did indeed feel incredible. I even got 5 Commendations out of it! :D

RDM privilege is getting priority rezzes from the healer. I don't care how many times I have to scrape up the red mage in a party, as long as that one stays up, us healers have a backup in case both of us eat shit at the same time. Raise on dualcast is such an asset, I'm glad every time we have one in the group.

Always Rescue the stack marker. Doesn’t matter who they are, doesn’t matter if they are already ontop of you to the point you have to buy them breakfast the next morning. Rescue them at the last second of a marker and they will always be in the right place.

I play rdm, the hardest habit to set was taking a good look at where the edges of the fighting field are before i finish the attack combo and send myself backwards quite a distance. I have fond memories of sending myself over the edge of a battle because i didn't look.

I 90’d every job, and really love many of them but Red Mage will always be my one true love, so much so that when I added the letters “FFXIV” to my sleeve tattoo to commemorate my 10 years playing it, I put the RDM logo underneath it. Nothing beats the feeling of being the only player left standing in a full party and saving from a wipe by rezing. It’s one of the best feelings with any DPS

Displacement is super useful for getting out of melee range if you zoom in for swordplay at the wrong moment. I use it only when I know my WoL won't go over an edge or into a death zone, though. Ir's set up so I won't ever use it by accident; I have to work to hit the keys for it (ALT+5)
