About The Red Sleeve (옷소매 붉은 끝동):
In Korea during the first half of the 1700s, Yi San (Lee Junho) is an aloof and perfection-loving young prince. His father’s killing haunts him, although it leaves him in the position to take the throne once his grandfather - the cruel and ruthless current king responsible for Yi San’s father’s death - dies. He has resolved to become a benevolent monarch who will reform the law when he eventually takes the throne, but the way his father was killed has scarred him emotionally.
At court, he meets a young woman named Sung Deok Im (Lee Se Young). Yi San falls in love with her and tries to convince her to become his official concubine. But Sung Deok Im is strong-willed and free-spirited. She is also intelligent enough to understand that becoming a royal consort to the future king is a prestigious role, but one that would restrict her freedom and likely bring her little in the way of joy. But Yi San’s love for Sung Deok Im is true, and she starts to understand that forming a union with him could ultimately benefit his troubled realm.
This drama series was based on a 2017 novel by Kang Mi Gang.
“The Red Sleeve” is a 2021 South Korean drama series that was directed by Jung Ji In.

Lee Junho is excellent here. So captivating with his body language. The way their romance is unfolding is worth watching. But it's really kind of tormenting to look forward to next episodes every week. Can't wait as it's so interesting.

Yea it actually sucks having to wait..and yup junho is a gud actor, love how he is strong n authoritive even with deok In.. He is respectable n patient towards her becoz he loves her so much..I love it ❤️‍🔥 she’s winning 💯% our boss lady lol

@@daydreamer8469 hello Kalpana , sorry I didn’t get your message…yes, I wanted to watch The Red Sleeve on UTube but it’s showing trailers only and not the whole drama. I know that Viki Rakuten has the whole series but I don’t really want to buy a subscription. I also know that Viki has a 7 day free trial but I am not sure if I can finish watching The Red Sleeve in 7 days. So I’m asking where I can watch the whole drama other than Viki. She was very brave to call him out on it. Then he got all het up because he gave himself away, that the only one he cared about was her. Really need Ep 7, this is the first time I have ever watched a K drama series week by week, and I have watched a couple of hundred series by now, it’s absolute torture…… I’d much rather pull an all nighter and binge watch.

That's exactly how I feel. I ONLY binge watch Kdrama so to have to wait each week is pure torture. I like that she called him out. A little disappointed the dialogue turned to his affection for her but I hope in the next episode, we see him reflecting on her words.

But then I like Junho ( the Prince ) as an actor. I am waiting for The Kings Affection to finish airing mid Dec with Rowoon, so I can binge watch that. @@ThrizylNandoo if you haven’t watched Junho in “Wok of Love” I thoroughly suggest you give it a view. It is a RomCom. Good actors, a little bit whacky but the cast do their utmost with the characters in the commercial kitchen, you learn a lot about Asian cooking. It was just as well I viewed WOL before knowing about 2PM, I don’t think I could quite view it the same after seeing Junho sing and dance on a stage wearing a headmike, red trousers, exuding a lot of perspiration.

As much as I have empathy for Yi San bc he was both verbally and physically abused by his fucked up family since he was a kid, I resent his attitude here, Deok Im was literally harassed by that rat and he was just there throwing a tantrum, I thought he would have a little more comprehension about that sort of situations, jealousy is really the worst shit.

But he is totally in love with her. He is not thinking as the Crown Prince or emperor. He is thinking as a man who loves one woman. Even a royal should be entitled to love someone above all else. When his son dies (but it is after he dies) he tells Doek-Im that they cannot put their loss, their grief ahead of all the other people who have lost a loved one, including children.

But the court ladies swoon over his lecturer voluntarily ,knowing what will happen if a court lady gets involved with someone other than the King himself and King sucessor ,the crown prince. Because they are supposed to be King's Women ( thats what red sleeve mean ) But Crown Prince cant tell each of them to stop falling for his lecturer, like your dad or mom telling you not to get involved with your dangerous boyfriend. He literally doesnt care about other court ladies swoon over his lecturer . But Deok Im is different.

@@rithikabinu5965 But its Ancient Joseon and what do you expect ? For the CP himself,his position is not stable yet. Deok Ro is his loyal follower who supports him. ( Well this character helped our CP to become a king in History) Deok Ro backdealings about Palace secrets are for him. Should CP scold Deok Ro for using the court maids' crushes on him to trade secrets ? No he cant. 'Even in this modern age, we cant tell our handsome bad friend to stop using girls who crush on him. The chance is he wont listen to us ,neither will the girls.,,, Also ,Court maids are taught not to get involved with men from their young age. They all know they can be punished with palace exile or poison to death. Still , if the affair is not useful for court politics , some will turn blind eye and all she will get is a scolding. But the affair is a big stir in the Court , she will be in dead end.

Out of all the things he could have said, like "how long has the lecturer been doing this, has he hurt you or threatened you?" he chose to say the most recycled pickup line in Korean dramas "you're mine" no dude answer her question first. Kind of annoyed at the lack of depth in this scene which could have been explored more.

it's kind of silly that he dodges in front of her, these guys were dressed by other people... this kind of behavior reflects more bourgeois morals than court morals, especially in a concubine culture this attitude is its complete opposite

@@anitha2053 It makes sense but it's not what the show portraits, every now and then they say the dream of a court lady is to be chosen by the king/prince, besides this show is based on a true story of a king that made a court lady into his concubine - spoiler alert: refused to have kids with the queen and had a few kids with the court lady, he was devoted to her
