I think she was the best actor on the show, which is a big call, and it's not by a huge margin or anything. I think Lena Headey, Charles Dance and Alfie Allen were incredible too. But, Michelle was just perfect and hit all the right notes. Couldn't have been done better.

This episode marked the birth of reaction videos. As you likely know by now, the haunting melody accompanying it was "The Rains of Castamere," renowned in Westeros for recounting the downfall of House Reyne by Tywin Lannister's hand. The Freys had all but declared their intent playing it, hence Cat's reaction.

Honestly, that was the best reaction I've seen in a long LONG time to The Red Wedding. I could feel every emotion from the moment you said you went cold when things felt off 😭😭😭 again, I'm so so sorry. This was a heart destroyer for sure. BUT also not completely unexpected. The show was screaming this was coming to us, from Bolton letting Jaime go to all the dialogue about what a mistake Robb made marrying Talisa.
@Leo_ofRedKeep
@Leo_ofRedKeep 6 ай бұрын
And Tywin writing letters each time his children visited, telling Cersei he was doing "everything he could" to get Jaime back. But the big red flag was Bolton releasing Jaime under the promise he would not be held responsible for his maiming. Looking further back, Bolton turned the moment news came of Winterfell being lost to Theon in S2. Then he "offered" to retake Winterfell for Robb.

I absolutely did that. 😂 While I was reading, I just shouted NO at the end of every paragraph and then read each paragraph again. I got to the end of the chapter and re-read the whole scene AGAIN, still saying NO NO NO, THIS IS BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN, NO NO NO, and finally threw the book. I woke my dad up. It was 3 in the morning. The last time I did that was in 2006 over Dumbledore.😂 Woke up dad up then, too. I WILL SAY, this particular scene was a lead-up to something super badass and gratifying that they completely cut out of the show. The writers totally and wholly robbed audiences entirely of a JUICY AF payoff from all this character death. This was a big domino that pushed other dominos that gave us MORE MAGIC SCENES, what little the story contained. We were STARVED for magic in this tragic book and the Red Wedding was a catalyst to one of THE CRAZIEST effects of magic for a particular character. In the show, it almost feels meaningless. Shock for the sake of shock and no thought or care for the plot, character development or world building.

I read the books in advance so knew that this was coming but was still shocked at seeing it played out on screen. Robb’s wife did not come to the book wedding though so her death on the tv series was definitely horrifying. My sympathies, but you are no longer a sweet summer child. From now on, you’ll be fine 😁 Rickard Karstark told Robb that he lost the war when he married Talisa…truth. Robb had no idea how important oaths were. Ned would never have broken this oath. At least Arya and the Hound didn’t arrive early…upside 👍

20:40 Boy, I still remember the tension kicking in as the band starts to play the Lannister song... like no, no, something's not right!

The screams heard around the world on this episode must have been insane. So disturbing especially the first kill being their unborn baby in her womb. Totally destroyed us all. 💔 .

I miss all the GOT party gatherings that took place in my house. I've rewatched this show 3times, and I am still finding new things that I missed. Enjoy, your in for a rollercoaster time of your life! I do not think there will ever be another show like GOT. I love your reaction. Welcome to the feast. My husband read all the books, and said they NAILEd it!

Thanks for doing these. I think that, collectively, viewers needed a shared experience, like being in the audience in a theatre or at a concert. So, the reaction industry was born.

Caitlyn was looking odd because the song the musicians had begun to play was a song about the Lannisters murdering a castle full of people. “The Rains of Castamere.” Fun fact, one of those musicians was from Coldplay.

How did I just find you. Your reaction is exactly how I felt and I read the books! They definitely did the Red Wedding justice. All of it. Every minute of this heartbreaking episode. Great job, you!

Oh love, we know how hard it is. That song is known as the Lannister song, The Rains of Castemere, because of Tywin massacring an entire House that rebelled against his house, so Cat knew something was weird, something was up when they started playing that song.

Well, you made it. You've officially been blooded. This episode is responsible for creator/reaction channels blowing up the way they have. When this episode happened it was talked about on national talkshows and news outlets here in the states. No one is safe in this show. Loved your reaction! Lol

This episode is one of the main reasons we are watching you today. The Red Wedding scene was the first viral reaction on KZbin. People that read the book set up cameras to record their friends who didn't know what was going to happen. Then those reactions were uploaded and from there KZbin reactions and reactors started.

i started crying because you were crying! You're a sweetheart. I remember my first time watching this the day it was released. I was a mess. It took a week to shake the feeling of grief! You're right. It is one of the most shocking things even on TV. But, like someone else said here you have a long road to go lol. They did such a good job with it. Brilliant TV.

I watched this episode live in highschool, then my life’s mission became showing all of my friends this show simply to destroy them with this episode. It never disappointed. I had a friend run out of my house crying saying he had to go for a run, another friend had to have a therapy session with my brother afterwards, and I myself watched on in horror with open jaw, and streaming eyes. The writing is simply unparalleled.

No longer a sweet summer child; welcome to winter. Imagine book readers kept this secret from tv viewers for over three years. Then on this first showing the set up cameras to record reactions. GoT did more to start the reaction genre than anything and this episode capped it. The title Reins refers to the Lannister song referred to in several episodes about the total destruction of a rival family.

What a great reaction, really admire you for not walking away and instead choosing to talk through your raw reaction at the end. I absolutely wouldn't have blamed you for taking that time but you're absolutely right that it made the reaction more genuine and more honest to watch. All of us went through this when the show was airing, so you're not alone in how deeply this impacted you and we all completely understand. I remember swearing off the show and saying I was going to drop it because all my favourite characters were gone. Of course I was right back on the sofa next week when the following episode aired.

Hey Kev, take all the time you need to process it. I've never read the books but I've had this visceral reaction to other books or shows or movies and just needed some time to come to terms with what I just witnessed. It's so graphic and while it's visually stunning scene and is a fantastic bit of storytelling it is also just so disgusting in your heart, I definitely can empathize and commiserate. Go hug Luis and maybe a dog too and get some goodness in you.

Hi Kev, so so sorry you had to go thru this. We all knew it was coming. Because of the Red Wedding, that’s why we are watching you now. Glad you weren’t spoiled. I was because I read the books and I wish that I hadn’t. I’m not going to read the books for future shows anymore. I’ll wait till after and then I’ll read them. It was a little different in the books, but still very hard to watch. Take care Kev, hope you felt better after a few days. Diane 💕💕💕

Im sorry you went through this. I just found your channel because this specific video was reccomened to me. Idk what that says about what I like to watch on YT. 😅 This is a rough bit to get through in this show. But I always say to new watchers to use this as a reminder as you continue the show. It helps a person be prepared. You gotta be when you're watching GoT! 😂 I cried horribly during this episode and had to find something else to watch afterward even though it was super late, because I was so depressed after!
