I always wondered how to prepare a cake tin - it calls for it in recipes, but never knew how. I just used coconut /olive oil spray and spread over the entire area. I am starting to use parchment paper more often, but honestly, what is the difference? It seems the flour is a bit messy.

Does the size of tin affect baking time ? I've wanted to make cake and i have a very tiny mould so will baking time change ?

Hello Sharon. Parchment is more foolproof - if you don't grease the bottom or sides enough or if they're bald spots that you missed, then you might have problems taking out the cake. Hopefully, this helps.

@@dr_ais_h_u Yes. A larger tin (as in larger than the one specified in the recipe) will spread the batter out more which will make the product bake faster. If your tin is smaller it might take longer to bake as the batter is now deeper than what the original recipe was. But it also might not bake properly.
