No apologies needed. You ran into problems, took a step back, thought about a solution and implemented that solution. Problem solving is an art. One that is sadly getting lost with this next generation. I appreciate the time you put into the maintenance series. This is helpful and entertaining.

Thank you for your comment and kind words. It is great to hear from people like you who appreciate what I am doing. It is a big motivator to keep putting the videos out.

Great video, as I haven’t seen any reduction gear rebuilds for a Nordhavn on the internet the process to me is fascinating. Sad to say if it was me I would have to hire a scuba diver to fetch the housing where I would have accidentally thrown it overboard. 😅

Thank you for your comments. So true, it can get very frustrating sometimes. You just have to keep plugging away until you win.

No need to apologize. Things unexpected happen to everyone. This video shows that we need to work through problems to get the results we need. It also shows when you hire someone to do the work for you prices can change because of unforeseen circumstances. The saying expect the unexpected and your day will have less surprises 🍻

I know the feeling if something does not go as planned. No apologies needed, the more videos of this type of repair the better. The easiest part was removing to old races. I think changing the bearings is the smart thing to do. Looking forward the next video. Good luck with it.

Thank you for your comment. Sorry for the late reply. Yes, this project was one that I thought would be pretty straightforward, but those are the ones that usually surprise me.

At least you're honest about ur mistakes, but do we really have to watch all the failures?

Thank you for your comment. Tracy and I talked to many people who didn't expect full-time cruising to be so much work. That is why I try to show the realities of what it is like to work on a boat. Sometimes a 30-minute job turns into a two-day ordeal because of a broken bolt.
