This message covers the life and impact of Desiderius Erasmus, and why there was a need for church reform. For Erasmus, church reform means not just leaving and starting something new when we disagree, but instead staying, listening to those who disagree, and finding a way to unite our churches.
From the series "The Reformers." Preached by pastor Brett Klingenberg at both Beatrice Mennonite Church and First Mennonite Church on October 15, 2017.

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm glad that our messages delving into church history have been so well received and enjoyed by people online! Just a nobody pastor serving a tiny little peace church in a small Midwest town. Blessings, friend!

Dear "Erasmus", there's one thing you didn't voice up in your effulgent life biography: where did you get your salient Amerrican accent , lol. As a full-fledged sttate in all its substance and definition, America was not even there, not even in the most fanciful project at the time Erasmus of Rotterdam was living his busy, events-swelling life :) Other than that, thank you for the replete, edifying and cognition-filled video, pastor Amor. God bless you!!!

Was Erasmus hunted by the CC for translating the NT into Greek?!
@PastorAmor

I’m sorry, I’m not sure I understand the question. The NT is entirely in Greek in the originals. Though the CC would have preferred the Latin translation at the time of Erasmus. (The Latin translation is called the Vulgate, which I’m pretty sure was translated from Greek to Latin by Jerome.)

@@PastorAmor I'm sorry, I see how that comment can be confusing, ha! Erasmus published his own Greek NT in 1516, correcting some 600 errors of Jerome's Latin Vulgate. Was wondering if you knew whether or not the Catholic Church hunted Erasmus down because of his efforts.
