Thank you, thank you, thank you! When first learning about hemisections, this was the reasoning I was missing in order to bridge the spinothalamic pathway with clinical presentation. It just didn't make sense. I have an issue with fixation when I don't understand a concept; it's difficult to move forward. So, I scoured the internet and textbooks and asked fellow medical students and faculty to no avail. Ultimately, I just gave up on understanding, choosing to memorize that bit. I stumbled across this today while prepping for Step 1, and I feel so much relief because I finally understand! It's a breath of fresh air. Thanks for sharing :)
