There are so many moving pieces for neurology in medical school. The pace can be so fast, especially when learning it for the first time. If one doesn't understand a concept, a student is almost forced to make a decision that results in memorizing content when exams are nearing. I 100% believe that understanding the material is the best practice. You have taken the little pieces and put them together in a 17 min. video. Thank you so much. Sometimes I feel like I owe so much more to the teachers on KZbin than a simple like and subscribe. Please always remember that when I was worried and stressed about exams, I've found clarity within your videos. Thank you again. Keep up the great work!

Professor you are amazing. After 5 years in medical school and 10 years of practice in musculoskeletal, today I understood the concept and basic principles. It was shame that we were taught in such a difficult way. You made things so simple and easy that I started feeling interest in neuro patients.

Thank you so much for your selfless support, Dr. Morton. I'm medical school at University of Hargeisa Medical School, Somaliland. I took my neuroanatomy course last year and lectures about tracts was very difficult to me and I didn't get the concept correctly yet though I watched Dr. Najeeb's lectures. This's helped me a lot.

Amazing lecture as always, Dr. Morton, My only suggestion is in regard to your example, as you know better, spinal cord in adult end at the level of L1-L2 so we only have Lower motor neurons pathology if the damage is below L2 (conus medularis) and after this level, only Lower motor neurons run as cauda equina moving down through spinal canal to the respective levels for these neurons to leave the spinal canal and become the prespective nerve. othewise excellent presentation as always. Thank you

I am confused at your question at 14:45. The spinal cord in an adult ends at around L2 so how can you have the sections of the spinal cord going down through L4 and S4? Lesions at the L4 level should be all LMNs. Can you please clarify this for me?
@TheNotedAnatomist5 жыл бұрын
The reason why is that the question was asking about spinal cord levels and not vertebral levels. The spinal cord ends at the L2 Vertebral level. However, the spinal cord still possesses all segmental levels (8 cerv, 12 thor, 5 lum, 5 sac) ... these levels are just compacted into the space between the C1 and L2 vertebral levels. If this is still confusing go to 3:01 on my Segmentation of the spinal cord video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJO9i5ydg56kgbM)

Hi. I’m just wondering why you have different myotomes for C5 and C6 from a previous video where you listed the muscle actions for these as shoulder abduction and elbow flexion, respectively.
