Nothing going on in political Washington today and it was bitterly cold, so I duck inside the recently renovated Air and Space Museum to show you what's up.

PenguinSix is an apolitical guy in a political town who likes to walk a lot. He has hiked over 17,000 miles (27,000kms) in the past six years and is still walking today. He is an American expat who spent the last decade in Hong Kong with his family and is now back in Washington DC, continuing his daily ritual of taking very long hikes around the city catching the sights and sounds of the city while live streaming to share with others. History, culture, life as an expat (with reverse culture shock), and the pitiful Chinese food in Washington DC are regular topics of discussion. Andrew, good showing of the museum. I agree with you that it's cold. indeed, it has been very cold in most of planet Earth since September last year. But the Green Scammers of environmentalism declared 2023 to be the hottest year on record. They only count the normal hot temperatures of Summer, but conveniently ignore to tally the cold temperatures of Winter, Spring and Fall. This cadre of Green Deceivers, like prairie rodents, hunker down in their little warm holes in the ground to protect themselves from the freezing temperatures of Winter. But in Summertime, they all pop out of their madrigueras (holes in the ground for little animals), and immediately start demanding money to mitigate the effects on mankind of the non-existing Man-made Global Warming.

Except they aren't ignoring the temperatures that occur in spring, winter, and the fall. You would know this if you paid attention to when they talk about the average monthly temperature of the entire Earth in December, November, etc. as well as the average yearly temperature. You could then make a chart of the various data points and see that the average yearly temperature is increasing. And yes, global warming is man-made as we are releasing tons of greenhouse gases when we burn fossil fuels. The more greenhouse gases that are in the atmosphere the more heat they trap. The more heat results in the global average temperature increasing, and that results in changes to our climate and weather patterns.

This is awesome @penguinsix. I bet you have been through here many times, but I can still hear the excitement in your voice! To imagine how much space is needed is overwhelming. Do you like the changes? Years ago I had the chance to visit, but it is very different now. Do you get into watching the take-offs and landing live streams on KZbin? I like watching Amersterdam and others during days they are crabbing into crosswinds. Did you ever read the Wright Brothers’ autobiography? It is a great read. Thanks again for the tour!

It always amazed me how Alan Sheppard had the nerve to get into a Mercury capsule that was held together with Phillips screws and fender washers. Great balls of fire, no pun intended.

He was a test pilot, and death was a constant companion. For him getting into that tiny capsule was no different than getting into an untested plane and pushing it to its breaking point.

I’ve lived in the metro area for over 40 years but it’s been some time since I’ve been at the Air and Space Museum, so I guess I’m due for a visit! Before the museum was built, I came to DC on a school trip all the way from New York and saw the Wright Brothers plane displayed in the Smithsonian Castle building. It made quite an indelible memory!

The Oracle stunt biplane in Museum: I saw that many of times in airshows. Always enjoyed the stunts and Sean Tucker who piloted the Oracle bi plane here. I also enjoyed the new age 80s type electronic type music that played during the Oracle bi plane part of the airshow here.

What evidence makes you think that we didn't go to Moon? I ask because not only is there tons of film evidence, photographic evidence, and the evidence of how weak the force of gravity is on the Moon in what was filmed. And ask yourself this one simple question: Why would the Soviet Union, our great adversary in the Cold War and the Space Race, not take the opportunity to prove the United States was lying about landing on the Moon? Wouldn't that have the been the ultimate propaganda coup for them? Yet, they didn't do that even though they had the means to disprove our claim if it was false. Thus, belief that the United States didn't go to the Moon requires the cooperation of the Soviet Union in covering it up, and that is something that makes no logical or rational sense when it comes to the Soviets.

Could you make suggestions on restaurant eateries on your city walks and drives for us visitors looking for great food in all price ranges in our fantastic Capital city? So much to see but it is really hard to decide where and what to eat when you are depending on the Metro to get around or by car sometimes when you can find or afford parking. I have really enjoyed your vlogs and sharing interesting stories.
