One aspect I do hope for the roster: Don’t overly rely on Wolverine like the Fox movies did. Have a good balance of other characters sharing the spotlight and have great development and story impact. X-Men: The Animated series (Original Run and 97) did that very well.

Imo, I think it’s mandatory to start off with the original lineup. Mutants exist in a post-avengers world. We can’t just introduce the, like they’ve been here for years. They need an origin. Or maybe have the OG team or at least some members of it older and retired/semi retired. Like they're no longer the main team and teach full time at the Xavier institute but will help out and put their costumes on if the threat is big enough. Jean, Beast, Xavier and Angel are full time teachers and in their late 40s to early 50s. It also makes sense timeline wise as back in those days only Captain America was well known. And people with powers would still be something new to the world and mutants would be feared. It would also mean the OG team managed to actually make some dents in the prejudices and made changes because the world definitely supported the avengers for a while

for those not ok with this line-up remember Gambit, Rouge, and Jubilee were barely even represented in the fox films. I added rouge to that list because she was a completely different character in the fox universe. All three of these characters deserves better treatment in the films. I'd even add that Cyclops needs to be reestablished as the leader and have a bigger role while wolverine takes a more supporting ensemble role with the group. Kitty pride and iceman can sit the first film out.

Tbh, it makes sense for the MCU to use the same characters since they're going to be the most recognizable right now thanks to the popularity of the show. We've also, for the most part, already seen some variation of these characters in previous live-action X-men projects as well, which again means that they're going to be more well-known to a wider audience. I definitely wouldn't complain if they do use this team in the beginning though, so long as we get more characters introduced overtime instead of only focusing on the same team/characters in every movie/show (like the Fox movies did). Hopefully they'll hold off on the Dark Phoenix storyline for awhile as well this time around 😂

I kind of hoped the MCU roster was a little smaller tbh. It’s one thing to have that roster for a series let alone a sequel series where they’re all pre-established. But throw that kind of roster out for the first movie is gonna be very hard to write well. That was one of the main critiques I saw with Eternals when that came out. The first GOTG & Spider-Verse movie are the only I’ve seen this done well & even then they only had 5-6 members for both teams.

@@kingofcomics5951 Well I did hear that the MCU X-Men will appear after Secret Wars where the MCU will be soft rebooted. So that’s how.

I've been rewatching the X-Men movies, and to be honest, they really need to take more inspiration from the comics and the series. I know the MCU has fallen in recent years, but an MCU X-Men reboot could redeem the mistakes the old movies made and hopefully the MCU too...

I can’t say I’m surprised considering this is the most iconic version of the team but we’ve never had the original five on team together in a movie and I wouldn’t mind building up to this iconic team And I wouldn’t mind having an MCU X-Men movie without Wolverine I wouldn’t mind seeing Iceman and Shadowcat before seeing Gambit, Rogue and Jubilee
