Hey David! Matthew Henry says some insight to the stalks of flax on the roof. He says it wasn't the roof material, but people would set them on the roof to dry before they used it in the wheel(I don't know what wheel, but that's something to look into when tracking on this chapter next time!)

I'm truly excited to dive into the Word alongside Pastor David's guidance, annotating and reflecting on each verse 📖 . I can't wait to complete a meticulously annotated Book of Joshua, rich with cross-references and deep insights, all facilitated by God's wisdom through Pastor David. 😊 Speaking of insights, Pastor David, I have a quick question 🤔 : Could we also interpret the scarlet thread in Joshua as symbolising the blood of the Lamb(🐑 --> Jesus † ) mentioned in Exodus 12:13? My thoughts are : As the Angel of the Lord spared those with the blood of the Lamb on their doors, the same way Joshua and the rest spared the life of Rahab and her family because of the scarlet thread, the same way if we are washed in the blood of Jesus, will be spared from God's wrath in the end times and instead be raptured (similar to what it says to the church of Philadelphia in Rev.3:10?) 💚

Isaiah 1:18 makes the association between sin, forgiveness, and scarlet: ...says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. The scarlet thread, and the lamb's blood on the doorway could be said to point to Christ in this way. Thank you for this!

There was belief. The reasoning is that she voiced fear of the LORD, in JOSHUA, when she departed , the common thought and belief in THE TRUE GOD was a common feeling .

Hi pastor David. Am extremely happy to study the book of Joshua. Am pretty sure that God has a lot to teach us through it ao we can live a godly life. I would like to ask a question . Why the name of the two spies are not given ? Could be that they were angels from the Lord sent to Rahab house to set up the scenario for what later will be a symbolism of the new covenant when she placed the scarlet ribbon on the window to spare her and her family lives from death ? Hi. The 2 spies were men, not angels. Joshua sent them from the camp and they had to hide 3 days in the mountain before returning to the camp. Angels would not have needed to spy out the land. Nor would they had to have hidden for 3 days.

I'd like to assume that there was some connection between the "passover" blood painted on the door posts and the crimson cord Rahab placed in the window.
