I'm a grown man and every time she looks up at the sky crying quietly to herself - I tear up every time. Children today go through this every day - That's someone's daughter or son or little sister or brother. The fact that this story is based on real children who are treated so terribly....gets me every time.

As a little girl this scene always made me cry my eyes out with no noise coming from me. Just tears steaming from my eyes, I lived in a physically and verbally abusive house hold up until the ages of 18, I recently joined the navy and the best decision I ever made with my life. I related to this scene and song so much as a child.

My mom co-wrote the lyrics to this song when I was 10. Reading these comments is quite touching. EDIT (8/27/20): thanks to everyone for all the kind words about my mom. She's 77 years young and will appreciate seeing your comments. Pretty soon I'm going to screenshot all your comments and put them together into some sort of gift for her. So thanks again. 2ND EDIT (9/1/20): I passed along all your comments to my mom and she asked me to pass onto you all the following: "Thank you my son my sun for eliciting these beautiful words that are music to my ears. So happy to share the Disney experience with others. 💙🦋🎶 Love, Mama" 2023 UPDATE: Ayn just had her 80th birthday in July of this year. She is happy and healthy and part of that comes from my sharing these comments with her, so thank you all again.

Growing up with a lot of abuse, homelessness, and abandonment...I was more scared than I knew how to process. The really sad part was I thought Penny was the one who needed to hear this song, I was alone as far as I knew...there are always children out there who need some kindness and love to know they have value. This song is a heartfelt embodiment of the tenderness and hope that is so absent today.

I lost my parents at a young age and I was an only child. I lived with my relatives but I was never treated a part of the family. Each night I would cry of loneliness and wished for a family of my own. I always say to myself that if I die, nobody would be mourning or crying for me. The lyric to this song hits hard, "Someone's waiting to love you." Now that I am married, my prayer has come true. My husband loves me and cares for me, and we have a little son. "Soon there'll be joy and happiness and your little world will be bright." My prayer now is to live a long and healthy life so I'd have so much time to spend with my husband and child. Thank you for this song.

An underrated song from an underrated classic. Shelby Flint's voice is so tender and soft, like she's comforting her own child. Whether you're 3, 33, or 83, and you have a heart so big, no matter who've you've lost, how alone you feel, how dark things seem, someone is waiting for you. This song makes me feel extremely emotional. I'm not adopted but, I grew up in an abusive home. I always felt lost as a kid and I knew that I didn't have anyone who loved me. I remember being 8 or 9 years old watching this amazing movie and I remember feeling the emotions in the character and in the song. My "relatives" never show me the love that I've been looking for my entire life. And I was looking for that person who wanted to show me that love. I can still relate to this song now (at 32 years old), and I still deal with the same abusive household that I grew up in. And I still deal with not having any love from my "relatives." But I found love through my favorite band and their fan base (that I'm extremely proud to be a part of). In the last part of the song ("someone's waiting to love you") I realized that the band and the people in that amazing fan base are the ones that had been waiting to love me for so long. And they are the best people that I've ever spoken to💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

ScorpioBornIn69 computer animators are the most nerdiest technical copy cats you will ever see.. i have been around 3D animators and they usually do from 2 to 3 minute animation and it takes weeks while a 2D animator can make a 20 minute animation in a day... its harder to be a 2D animator compare to a 3D animator in speaking in terms of skill.. 3D animators just require a lot of technical understanding, and most of the stuff we are thought i just to mimic life,about 5% of of all the animator graduates are actually gifted in expressing their characters genuinely and from their own imagination...
@abubakrakram62086 жыл бұрын
You're right. This is talent, and you can prefer it all you like. However, while _"the CGI rubbish which we are getting nowadays"_ may not require talent, it requires a lot *more* times, effort, and knowledge to make. It's more difficult for people to gather the technical knowledge needed to do it, and it take more time to complete. You can prefer 2D as much as you like, or course, but don't equate 3D to _"rubbish,"_ because it's by far more difficult.

I need no proof that there are demons in another dimension working to destroy children. Out of all Doug Walker's Disneycember reviews this one I absolutely disagree with. Calling it boring to the 'obviously' superior thrilling, adventurous Rescuers Down Under and the girl an obnoxious Olson twin designed only to be 'pwecious.' Alright that makes me mad belittling her circumstances. Because orphans genuinely can't help themselves they're not outgoing, gifted, specially talent. They little to expand on, their lives are being stifled by the lack of a central parental figure with no guidance or direct love, with nothing to do but wait for it indefinitely. So his list of priorities of kids need saving seems to be how 'cool' the kid's skill sets are, how capable they already are, and if the kid can ride a giant eagle. A girl with nothing outstanding not worth bothering? Has he not seen the Rufus & Penny scene about how she was looked over by mere 'prettiness' of another? Could the same be said if the girl had a 'cool' skill or trick? That kind of mentality fuels the apathy that which Medusa used to kidnap a girl no one would even miss.
@dannypalin95837 жыл бұрын
I agree. I'm one of the people who doesn't find Rescuers Down Under superior to the first film. It has two glaring issues IMO: 1. Bernard and Bianca are barely in it. The only major characters who return, and audiences root for, play second banana to some kangaroo and a shrieking lizard. And these generic characters are never seen again. 2. Compared to Penny, Cody is kind of an idiot. He willingly puts himself in danger by gallivanting off without telling his mother where he's going and could've saved Marahute's life by alerting the Rangers when McLeach captured her. While Penny is an orphan who wants nothing more than a family who loves her, which allows people like Medusa to exploit her, Cody brings everything on himself. McLeach was a terrible man, but if Cody had hidden the feather Marahute gave him AND kept his mouth shut, none of what happened would have happened.

Hey, one man’s opinion. I wholly disagree of course and loved both movies as a kid. I will say though... even before I knew the basics of filmmaking or storytelling it struck me how wildly different these movies are in terms of tone. The second is very upbeat with a very adventurous tone... this one is just so dark and melancholy and fills you with such feelings of dread and despair at every turn with just a small glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel... but you know I loved that even as a kid. The darker and sadder it felt the more I wanted the heroes to succeed.

My mom used to sing this to me when I was a kid, it breaks my heart how we grew apart growing up, and every time I listen to this song the child inside me breaks and I can't help but to cry.

I never grew up much with Disney, so didnt know movie, I am not a big fan of cartoon movies in general..but when I saw this movie for the first time randomly on TV in my 20s I fell in love with it instantly.

Being adopted and being abandoned all my life I felt like penny so much I felt like no one loves me even having a living family…this song gets me every time…I love Penny and relate to her so much

Our mom used to sing this to us most nights when she tucks us in our bed. I didn't know it was used in a Disney movie, much less The Rescuers. I always had this song close to my heart, now it's made more magical.❤

This song reminds me of when you want to fall in love so much but it just isn’t happening for you and you see other beautiful loving relationships all around you and it hurts because you just want that too

Yes… I’m blessed to have loving parents… but that romantic love seems so elusive… but luckily I’m learning to fill my own cup and realize I never had to wait to receive love. I can feel it right now ❤❤❤

I haven't heard this in years, and now I can't get through this song without tearing up. It's just so beautiful. It actually makes me happy, because it provides a message of hope, but though it says, "don't cry..." I still cry!

This is one of the best Disney songs ever - and a flashback to the 1970's if you're feeling nostalgic. Something about the orchestration... I loved Penny so much as a little girl! Still do.

Finally found the song my mother used to sing to me when I was a baby. She said that whenever I'd cry she would sing this to me and I would immediately fall asleep. I asked her about it recently and she said it was from the movie "The Rescuers". It's really ironic because when I watched this now it made me cry. I love you so much Mama. You work so hard for me and my brother just for us to live a nice life and I never tell you how thankful I am to have you in my life.
