I love Resident Evil. Resident Evil 2 is my fav OG playstation game and my fav ps4/ps5 game. 3 is almost tied. I wish they had given the remake the same effort as 2. Hope re4 remake is as good as 2. Also loved 7 and 8.

Tho a lot of people are not sure if this game needed a remake or not, i was one of those people who enjoyed the original but i always had my issues with the game and i think the game will be better with the changes, especially in the story imo, the og wasn’t taking itself seriously and i think that’s the charm of it, leon is always making fun of the situation but capcom since re7 they wanted to make the story and the franchise more serious and scary and i always thought that re4 is the perfect challenge for them because the game is a mix of everything and it has a lot of potential to change a lot of stuff and add things to make it more interesting and better and so far i think they nailed everything. Idk how the full game will be, it will be my favorite game of 2023 despite what will happen because i want the changes so I don’t mind if it wasn’t like the original so it won’t affect the game for me.

@@jackjax7921 yeah... the original game was fun but it wasn’t a horror game that’s for sure “it has its scary moments tho” but leon was making jokes and stuff and tbh that’s one of the reasons i loved the original game but since capcom is going for more serious tone they can do a lot of stuff with the game to make it scary. Though i'm glad they kept the one liners in the remake because it’s one of Leon's charm is him being goffy despite how serious the situation might be and his one liners is why the fans loves him so i was happy to hear them and don’t change his character completely. They just made him more serious.

Honestly and maybe I am against the overall consensus, btu I feel like Code Veronica should have been Resident Evil 3. One thing I love about RE is the change of settings in each game like Spain in 4, Africa in 5, China (among other settings) in 6, Rumania in 8 with new threats and main antagonists. To me RE 3 always felt like a DLC for RE 2 so to speak. It's still taking place in Racoon City around the time of RE 2 (a little bit before that) and Nemesis is the only antagonist. Meanwhile Code Veronica takes place somewhere else entirely and has several new antagonists.

Yeah, i agree. The new character designs, although jarring, when viewed for the first time, i agree that the new designs feel more believable. In the original, the main boss of the entire game was too flamboyant. In the remake, he sounds like a creepy religious zealot.

Call me over dramatic but this is the most nervous I've been about a game's release. RE4 is not only my favorite RE title but my favorite video game of all time. Which means that this remake has the potential to take that mantle. However with the few shortcomings of RE2make and the complete dissapointment that was RE3make I just don't want to allow myself to get hyped for this one. As I do in life I will hope for the best and prepare for the worst

It’s like they just went through 2 and 3 together (especially 3) with no love at all mainly 3. Just to put all of it into 4. As one who played the very first game when it first came out. Yes I’m up there in age. 3 was one of my favs and I was seriously disappointed with the “remake” we waited nearly over 20 years to make. They seriously screwed it up and cut way to much and changed nemesis way to much. It’s like they didn’t even care what the fans wanted. I just hope they don’t do that to this one. Regarded as probably the best RE game of all time depending on who you ask they better get it right. Capcom has given us no reason to trust them at this point. Maybe just maybe this will win us long time fans of these games our trust again.

If Saddler's in the remake which he most likely is I hope he disposes of Luis in another way as it seemed a bit right off of James Cameron's 1986 Aliens movie where the Alien Queen tail rapes Bishop at the end of the movie. Yeah... since it came out before, was the last game with fixed camera angles and 2D controls and was far needed a makeover more than 4 did. 4's graphics and gameplay survived the test of times far better to this day than Code Veronica. 1, 2 and 3 all have been remade... so why not Code Veronica, which as I stated, was the last of the 2D fixed camera angle RE titles

most likely yes, but there's also a trigger for killing the enemies, on professional, you need to kill 14 enemies i think to proceed. speedrunners use 7 bullets and 2 grenades for this

There's actually a hidden difficulty setting. The more you die, the easier the game becomes. They remove enemies and things like that.

The only RE's I've played are Bioshock and I'm almost done w/ Village. I don't know why, but they always seem too "cheesy" for me. I like my horror more like Silent Hill 1 or Dead Space. But - I'll give the remake a good try once it is out.

Improve the pacing? RE4 is literally the gold standard of stellar pacing. Other games strive to be as well-paced as RE4 was.

The first half yes, but in my opinion, it drags a lot in certain areas and at some point, it becomes a series of shooting galleries. What I mean by better pacing is mixing horror and action more effectively :) The game is still goated, don't get me wrong.
