Loved the review man. Hand on my heart, I literally pulled this one out two days ago and played through it. wanted to test out the board after all these years. Talk about some timing there lol. Keep popping up these rarities and showcasing them.

I love this game, it's short but surprisingly has a short reply value to it. I built a homemade cabinet with a Naomi 2 board, and a Namco Gunman Wars arcade gun to play this game still. Love your Naomi series videos man, keep em coming!..

There's one more Gun Survivor game on arcades, and that is... Gun Survivor 3: Dino Crisis (aka. Dino Stalker) This one came on the Namco System 246 (That version is unfortunately lost media) and the PS2, with the latter being the only version available for us to play
@VideoGameEsoterica8 ай бұрын
Maybe one day I’ll talk about that one because it is interesting for sure
@thegamenexus1608 ай бұрын
You kept saying they need to remake this as a regular light gun game, but the ps2 version released in Japan as Gun Survivor 2 Biohazard Code Veronica and in Europe as Resident Evil Survivor 2 Code Veronica supported the Guncon 2 and played AZ a legit free roaming light Gun shooting game. You should try that version.

I remember hearing about this one back in the day, but never saw it in person! I know Code Veronica has a bad rep among most Resident Evil fans, but I always loved it on my Dreamcast. Would be fun if they did a remake of it like the other games recently to fix the issues it has.

Capcom should had released this one on DC on Japan market. Would have been a quick and cheap port even without the PS2 extras...just a straight Naomi port. They were still releasing games on that timeframe for DC despite it was discontinnued (Capcom vs SNK 2 was released on JP DC like two months before this one). so they would made a few extra sales with a very small investment. I guess like the game was also meant to promote Namco´s Guncon 2, probably they didn´t see a DC port feasible...Hope someday someone find the way to port Naomi games to DC, as they did with Atomiswave.

Brief slightly related tangent incoming: Code Veronica absolutely fked up Claire's personality and all of her appeal. In RE2 she was basically Ripley from ALIENS; king hearted but tough, out of her element but resourceful and most of all, incredibly motherly. When I think of Claire, I think of the moment when you get to the lab and you see that shes given her jacket to Sherry and is now wearing gun holsters and just a shirt (clear nod to her ending outfit in ALIENS). This scene perfectly hows not only how kind she is, even in the face of danger. But also how willing she is to face it. I love it and its stuck with me ever since I first played as a kid. Code Veronica Claire is just a bitch. And I dont mean in a 'Ripley telling the suits to shove their bullshit up their ass' line of bitch. I mean, she genuinely just seems childish and moody. It genuinely seems like they changed her personality to that of a teenager. Maybe this was to help with the uh... 'romance' *cough* but she just seems grumpy and standoffish. As a kid this really bothered me because I wanted nothing more than another game with Claire, but CV is just not it and frankly I dont think they have ever gotten her personality right again. Just to be nice though, I will say that Capcom got Barry PERFECT in the RE remake on GC. Capcom know exactly how to write Barry. A badass who makes dad jokes.
