If you haven't played these games yet, do a favour to yourself and turn on dlss Quality, the visuals is much better and the texture is much more clear, you will thank me later

Thanks G. I'm not sure about the emulator games though. These are usually CPU bounded so it gonna be a CPU test instead. 🙂

With my rtx 3060 Max Q laptop (up to 105W) with the exact same settings i get 60-62fps meanwhile yours at almost 140W 67fps (almost 70-72fps without recording) so there's a 15% performance difference due to the power scaling

Hello, I have the same laptop. I cannot use the cpu with turbo boost turned on. The cpu temperature is 99 degrees as soon as the game is opened, the gpu is 85 degrees and the operating speed decreases. I saw in your videos that your cpu and gpu almost never get heated. Do you have any suggestions for a solution?

Try repasting your laptop with ARCTIC MX-6. I haven't tried it yet but planned to and from what I have heard it got good reviews too so Imma try that out soon. Or if you are like me who prolonging gaming on the laptop, you might as well want to invest a bit on something like a beast laptop cooler. It can be expensive I know, but it's a great investment considering Imma keep this laptop like forever until it become obsolete or until I have to finally replace it. The one that I recommend and I'm actually using right now is IETS GT626. This thing is a beast. Or if that not even an option, try LLANO V12 without the RGB and the hub. It's cheaper but in my country it dozen matter anymore as both products have similar price nowadays. I do aware that these products aren't available everywhere but if you live in Asia, I'm sure you can find these with ease. There are other alternatives out there too which I haven't discover and get my hands on yet but just find one that actually works. It feels weird actually if you already have turbo boost disabled, your CPU should be at 80°C not 99°C. I'm also felt like this before which is frustrating and so helpless. For a temporary fix I do fan cleaning and repasted with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut and Honeywell PTM7950 before I accomplished enough saving to get this beast of a cooler. Yeah repaste does work but around 3 months later it started to tear out so you need to redo it again. 🙂 kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2avhGqdotSDqrc

are u using cooler for lower temps. and how is the card doing after flashing the bios
@Jakiyyyyy8 ай бұрын
Yeah it's doing great as you can see in the video. I gotta say though if you don't know what's ahead already, you're probably in the wrong place. Don't do it. There is no free performance boost or upgrade, it comes with a price; temperature increments. So if you don't prepare a plan to counter the issue, that was a bad idea to do so. 🙂 kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2avhGqdotSDqrc

Any specific reason why you chose low textures for RE2?
@Jakiyyyyy8 ай бұрын
The GPU power usage will get rekt basically and the game will stutters like hell. Keeping the textures where it's not capable is just not valid and not accurate as well because GPU power is not fully utilized to begin with. 🙂

@@Jakiyyyyy oh but then with RE 2 I remember having good performance 60+ on max textures at 1440p. It's just that I had to be conscious about the vram.
@Jakiyyyyy8 ай бұрын
@@thepaperninja3123 When we talk about VRAM, I actually think it depends on the luck as well. You might being able to use max textures without any issue but I can't despite having the same setup. Not just this game though but in other games as well. Not sure who I am talking to but life is usual unfair. So there's that. 🙂

@@Jakiyyyyy I see. Did you notice any performance increase compared to before? What power supply do you have? I wonder if I could do this on my MSI katana 85w 3060 but it only comes with a 180w psu brick.
@Jakiyyyyy8 ай бұрын
@@rui8688 Of course. Expect 10 more fps if you don't have thermal throttling. It ain't much but when testing games, it's essential to show the full potential of that hardware, in this case the GPU. 180W brick is truly not enough. Power supply is like VRAM; it's always better to have more than not enough. Better safe than sorry. However 230W should be plenty but I went with 300W anyway to be super safe. Just get the Legion charger. It will fit as long as your laptop uses slim tip connector type as mine. And also you need to prepare beefy cooling as well. As someone who lives in a hot country and don't have air-conditioned room, I do aware with the consequences so I did prepared beforehand to give enough headrooms for temps. I mean do something so that your GPU dozen reach 85°C and above when you succeed, especially when running games. If your GPU already reached that threshold even on stock, it's not recommended to proceed. 🙂

Is it okay if you exceed max memory?
@Jakiyyyyy8 ай бұрын
It depends on how the game handle its memory management. In Remedy games for example, you can just maxed out those textures just fine even if you don't have enough VRAM. The game engine knows how to handle the "run out of VRAM" scenario. You might notice some of the textures appear blurry or not loaded properly but in a game where there are lots of forests you prolly won't notice much that happen because every textures are blended well with the environment. But in most games I tested where the VRAM is not enough, what the game does is to get rekt the GPU power usage despite GPU is being pegged at 100%. That's the obvious sign of VRAM overload. As a result, your frames become low, and feels very choppy. In a situation like that, keeping the textures on the settings where it's not capable are just not valid because GPU power is not fully utilized so the test is not accurate. Reduce the texture quality until your GPU power seems right. In some circumstances, you can also ignore the VRAM limit as long as you didn't notice the low GPU power or the game started to stutters like hell. 🙂
