Amur refinery stopped processing gas after explosion

An explosion occurred at the Amur Gas Processing Plant (GPP) of Gazprom, followed by a fire, the Amur news agency reports.Info". Gas processing has been stopped at a giant enterprise preparing fuel for pumping through the Power of Siberia gas pipeline.
The explosion occurred on the night of October 8 in the city of Svobodny, Amur region, by the morning the fire was eliminated. A gas torch lit up at the factory. According to TASS, the cause of the explosion was the depressurization of equipment. When the explosion occurred, there were no workers on the site, no dead or injured were subsequently found. 2.5 thousand people evacuated independently from the danger zone. The incident does not pose a threat to nearby residential facilities.
"There was a pop of gas with a fire. An emergency situation has occurred, there are no casualties and destruction, the automatic fire extinguishing system has worked. The damage is being established, the fire has been eliminated," the company's press service said. GPP employees isolated the gas distribution unit from the rest of the equipment in time.
Later, representatives of the GPP said that the natural gas processing process was stopped for the duration of emergency work. "The process was not affected, but stopped," the press service commented. The company refused to give approximate dates for the resumption of the technological process.
The Amur Gas Processing Plant is Gazprom's largest financial transaction. The complex is currently under construction. The GPP will process multicomponent natural gas from the Yakutsk and Irkutsk production centers. It should become the second largest gas processing plant in the world. At the moment, 786 billion rubles have already been allocated for the construction of the plant. According to the plan, the company will open six production lines with a capacity of 42 billion cubic meters of gas. The first branch was launched in early June 2021.
Another fire at Gazprom's gas installations occurred on August 4 in Novy Urengoy. The explosion that caused the fire occurred at the gas condensate preparation plant. Because of this, Gazprom was forced to reduce fuel supplies to Europe via the Yamal-Europe pipeline.
