This is one of the reasons I love working in pediatrics! Kids are such a joy to be with, they are so inclusive, and the things they say are just the cutest things, they genuinely care for others & a smile from them can make my day. I can only imagine what it’s like in a retirement home or long term care at this time during isolation due to the pandemic. I wish they could see these videos. I also wish they included music in long term care & retirement homes, they bring sparks of joy.

Older adults dont need to be alone in a retirement house, they need to live next to people and situations that make them feel like they want to keep living!

So if they had the kids come in twice a week, some puppies and kittens twice a week and got to listen to their favorite music the other 3 days a week (or even whenever they wanted to), it would be a much better life for them. Why doesn't every old age home use these methods? Maybe some old movies would be helpful also.
