I am of same age of Sachin’s, born in 1973. My generation adored cricketers like Gavaskar, Kapil. And then we continued getting some great batsmen. But then we continued getting humiliated, our national pride hurt - every time we saw batsmen succumbing to the fast bowlers, match fixers. There was nothing great to feel proud about, even in world politics...not only cricket. And then comes this man. My hurt Indian pride, ego was gone. It changed from meek to being snobbish. My generation enjoyed at the expense of this man. And some other greats like Dravid, Kumble , VVS, Viru and Sourav. Everything changed after that. We had a Zaheer who started looking in the eyes of Aussie batsmen. Golden days of our life. Goosebumps, tears. Respect!!!

I don’t think you should compare because no one played more for his own self than Sachin. Only in India can media be so blind to the reality of facts. Lost his last series in England and Aus 4-0 and yet he is so called “God”
@rajkoka4 жыл бұрын
@@GeorgetheArchitect oh! You play cricket with only 1player I think, but cricket all around the world is played with 11players in a team, and winning and losing depends on these 11players collectively, may be you don't know the game.
@GeorgetheArchitect4 жыл бұрын
@@rajkoka The other players who make claim to "greatness" also played with 10 others. Some of Tendulkar specials are as follows: a) For all his "accomplishments" in Australia, never won one series in Australia. b) Never even scored a hundred in a winning cause c) Anytime he scored, he was busy scoring for himself and ended up causing the side harm (Sydney 2004) d) Lost 4-0 to England and Australia. You would think he could have saved one game? NO! d) Has the craziest record in the 4th innings of a test match.. Never scored, if ever.. And, anytime you needed him, you could count on him to disappoint.. Compare that to Kohli, Ponting, Waugh, Richards.. not even in the same zip code. Finally, all his nutty fans kept saying we will never be the same after he retired.. The indian batting is far better under Kohli than it EVER was under Tendulkar's mantle.. The reality is he was a good batsman but he overstayed his welcome by about 6-7 years.

Sachin is best player ever world has ever produced. Amazing player , fighter , humble and the best in the world. Injuries are part of the game but overcome from those injuries are something different. He almost single handedly won a World Cup for India in 1996 but luck was not in his favour and we lost semi at Kolkata. I still remember in a series against Australia in 2004 or 05 where he was continuously getting out while playing cover drive and than come the last test of series where he was unbeaten in both the innings and wout playing a single cover drive he scored unbeaten 240 that is something out of this world. Hats off to my child hood hero.

Being a Pakistani, I consider that Sachin Tendulkar is best ever Batsman of 150 years history of cricket. I disagree with the statement of sir Don Bradman that Tendulkar plays like him, I think Don Bradman played like Sachin. I have seen the videos of Don Bradman's batting and great Tendulkar was far better than him. Don Bradman faced very ordinary bowlers but Tendulkar faced the highest ranked bowlers of the history of cricket. He faced Waseem, Waqar, Shoaib, Bret Lee, Alen Donald, Bishop, Ambrose, Walsh and Mc Grath, in the fields of spin he showed his class against Suqlain Mushtaq, Mushtaq Ahmad, Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne. He scored centuries against these Giants. He showed his class in fast and bouncy pitches against bowling like rockets.

Damn! Watching this with a few days left in 2020!! And still it gives goosebumps!! THIS IS TIMELESS!! I really lost interest in cricket after Sachin's retirement!! Late 90s and 2000s was the time when Indian cricket flourished and coz of great captains like Saurav (who build the foundation) and Dhoni( who nurtured the team) and the God of cricket Sachin himself being part of the squad; we won 2011 world cup!! Add to these names the Wall of the team Dravid; Yuvraj, Zaheer, Sehwag, Gambhir and a young Virat...and man what a team we had... Today's team is just a shadow of what we had a decade back... Going by one of the worst batting i have ever seen when India bundled out for 36 in australia yesterday... Khair... Cricket by any means is no longer a ball by ball affair now... Only highlights and cricinfo at times is enough...also; this IPL has done more damage than good... You can see and you wi see that profoundly in some more time...

When people also remember his failures apart from his success, u know he was the man whom we can't ever forget. Even at his worst emotional Times, we were there, we also cried when he cried. That type of emotion in cricket was over when Sachin retired. I miss him.
