lol...I thought i was the only one who had cassette recordings of Art Bell! Mine go back to the mid 90's. I have 3 or 4 boxes of them! Nice to know someone is still making a cassette player. Those have come back into vogue with the Gen Z gang as I understand it.

Hi Eric, thank you very much for information of this new cassette radio. Yes, I have a lot of cassettes. This is one of my hobbies apart from radios and so on. From the 80 th.on I like to listen to them with one of my 4 walkmen or with my cassette deck. In former days I used to make mix tapes for listening in my car radio (with cassette player). Here in Germany they sell new cassettes and there is a company in Canada which is making all sorts of blank cassettes.
@FarpointFarms
@FarpointFarms 6 күн бұрын
That is cool to know that there are still companies making blank tapes. I think making mixed tapes was a great childhood memory for me. Waiting for the exact moment my favorite song would come on and I would hit record.

Record to cassette, sd and blue tooth along with am/fm. The kitchen sink. How cool and convenient is that? 👍 On a related side note for those who may not know; there's a great deal of interest in cassettes over the last few years. It's not just for older folks looking for a way to play older media. Part of it is the gateway to magnetic tape sound. Also, physical media that's easy to copy/make,..then pass on or sell to music fans at shows. A connection to the past for younger folks who missed the analog era. I transferred a 24 bit/96khz digital multi-track mix to an early 90's sony component deck a couple years ago as a test. I'd forgotten how good they could sound. Really good along with the tape vibe. Instant memories for me. Cheers.

I guess Techmoan pointed out the problem quite good: There's only one actual tape drive left which is built into any new devices of today. So I guees it will just be same/same here. I don't get why there's still so many good record players with all the needed extras but no one is starting to make quality tape drives again.

I have always liked the types of portable radios that have a decent arrangement of the control features situated on top of the radio itself! My Mom had a Sharp portable 4 band receiver that had dual function car radio and portable as well because that old Ford Falcon of hers, the A.M. radio didn't work worth a flying damn! Upon her passing, I did end up with it and if I actually knew where it is right now, I'd drag it out! There are so few of those types of radios that end up on eBay for sale and there are at least 5 different styles of them that are 4 band models and have the controls situated on top of the radio! I like them for what the are because most of the valuable real estate that is at the front of the radio can serve as having a really decent speaker or two speakers that can provide great sound, and so that is what I would be after! My fourth radio that I ever had was a micro miniature A.M crystal radio that had a button cell for the two transistor amplifier, though a crystal headset ear piece was to be used. As years passed, I became a radio collector from hell! Mid way through my collecting I was into collecting 5 band radios that were nearly the size of a big boom box. I just had to have a radio that had to have very good sound and that never escapes me because I am STILL looking for the right radio only this time it most be in stereo and have recording capability, SD and Bluetooth capabilities as well! My search thus far has been at least going on oh 20 years now and I haven't as yet found what I am after!

I do still have some cassettes in storage, including some airchecks from my days in radio. Walmart's sell's junk cassette radios won't last a year. I wish, the radios would come extra antenna or a backup antenna. I would play a cassette and be asleep in 15-minutes. Every year you would get one "Hot" call on C2C, from an in sighter, who know too much.
