!!!PLEASE READ!!! This is a PREQUEL to the 'this is Halloween' animatic. First off, I'm not too happy with how this video turned out. The song is very fast paced and it clashes with my style of animatics. BUT saying that, I had a lot of fun making it. Second, I will be posting Cursed Town AU chapters on A03 (archiveofourown.org/works/42066168/chapters/105616281) , which will give more insight into everything, so if you have questions/don't understand, that's okay, it will all be explained. I don’t think that it’s weird that you see Dream like that after all Grimmijagger said in a different video that Dream is turning people into monsters so he can have a family and never be alone so in that regard it makes sense that he would be acting like a parent because he basically is the hole reason they where turned into monsters in the first place

My idea from what I've gathered so far would probably be this: Dream was weird since a young age so after he eventually gets locked up, his family, ashamed of him, leaves the town (thus the no one can leave part) and starts a new life never to speak of him again. Centuries in the future we see a curious young teen with a journal that says "do not read" written on it. He is a bit of an explorer. He has heard of the disappearances around [REDARECTED] area and has decided to check it out for himself, not knowing that his family lived there long ago. He sees a weird cat the size of a dog and before he could do anything it had managed to scratch him. He ran as fast as he could and escaped the creature but his head hurt like crazy... Leaving the rest for someone else to continue here:)

He is exhausted constantly, and he feels weak most of the time. His joints hurt, and his skin feels wrong. He eventually realized he was sleepwalking, and then the notes appeared. 3:29 Can we all just appreciate for moment how concerned Fundy looks that his "prey" got away? It's low-key kinda adorable. And how smug George looks when Wilbur and crew try to video him! 3:22 AAAHGH! The more times I rewatch this the better the faces each character makes look to me, so many small details you'd have to watch over at least three time to catch them all. Keep up the good work, can't wait for the next one!

I love how each time, we get to see the prior person as a monster! Great payoff. And I like how they die/who kills them partially relates to their lore…Aimsey sees Ranboo (and knows Ghostboo in lore), Slime and Quackity were close and he kills Karlnapity, Techno and Phil were at Jailbreak when Sam tried to imprison them (Ant was on vacation though. It’s either a coincidence, or a REALLY cool detail! I’d love to see your backstories for how they all got to the forest!

Thank you :D I tried making every character interaction connect to each other one way or another based on their dsmp lore or irl friendships, though some were random because I needed things to fit and not clash :'D If you see a connection between the character interactions, it's probably intentional haha

Considering that we got some spotlight with some people that haven’t transformed to monsters like Velvet something tells me that they’re gonna be very important later. Also I’m worried for CPK because he got himself scratched and considering what we have got with Ranboo this could easily be a way to lure him back into the woods. Also I just love the idea of the other monster is helping out with capturing people, it really adds to the horror of it as well as adding more to what we saw in the first animatic.

Alright, now I can see the names to see who’s who. Did Callahan know Dream when he was in the prison??? The audio is so Prettyyy! Was Punz a grave robber? Fitting that Dream chose a dragon I suppose. OH MY GOODNESS- SEEING ERET BEING PICKED UP BY A DRAGON AND THEM BEING DROPPED WAS SO COOL. Wait- IS HE A PRINCE?! EVEN BETTER! :D kind of feel bad for those knights man, they ain’t getting paid enough for this. Was Sam literally fighting EVERYONE? Yeah, I’d hire him as a guard if I were Dream. 1:40 oh, is that why Dream chose to make him a gargoyle. “Damn it, Eret, we needed that guy.” (Eret jump scaring him looked so cool!) CALLAHAN PULLING NIKI INTO THE WATER LIKE HOW KELPIES ARE SAID TO DROWN THEIR VICTIMS?? YES PLEASE THAT WAS AMAZING NOOO, FOOLISH. 😭😭😭poor guy just wanted to look for his mom. (Or papa?) SEEING PUFFY CRYING WHILE FOLISH WAS DROWNING WAS JUST SO SAD BRO. I’m happy that Dream turned him into a monster too. Seeing Bad in pain also put me in pain. (Emotionally) Was Skeppy toying with him or something?? Like leading him through the forest before Dream came? He looked so scared bruh 😭 Seeing him a second later as a fallen angel was cool though. He looked SO PRETTY 🤩 and creepy, was he stabbed in the chest before he turned? 2:17 Skeppy stalking his prey and waiting to pounce… damn. What the heck were Schlatt and Ponk doing? Considering Frankenstein’s monster theme, and how tired he was… he probably went through some shit didn’t he? Schlatt seems to enthusiastic to notice. Wait- NO, PONK DON’T GO! Oh shit… that moment when Schlatt looks back to continue ranting and then his expression falling when he realizes that something is TERRIBLY wrong with Ponk gets me. Seeing Fundy was really cool though. Schlatt really used HBomb’s own tools against him… wow. He made a good entrance too. What the heck did George go through? He looks so tired and ended up walking into a graveyard, where he got pushed into a coffin. Drawing at 2:37 looked really nice though 👍 Nooo, why? 😭 poor Ant, he just wanted to search for his cat! Now Velvet is at home, waiting for a husband who will never return. It hurts me even more that the most recent monsters are shown at 2020, he’s already dead. I don’t even think Ant would recognize him. SAPNAP, KARL AND QUACKITY WHY ARE YOU HAPPY AT SEEING SCHLATT AND PONK’S GRAVE? I’ll just assume that Schlatt was a bad person, or that they literally have no idea what’s happening. Slimecicle entrance man, why did you have to burn Karl. 😭 It reminds me of the Tales of the SMP episode where they were running through a maze, trying to get out and Slimecicle’s just there spectating. I wonder if he gave a similar speech at the end..?? TECHNOBLADE AND PHILZA! :D 3:07 NOO WHY DID YOU HAVE TO HIT US WITH THAT? 😭😭 now mumza will be like Velvet. Wait- does Phil still have the photo? Did Ranboo get sick from the cat scratch? Was he an outcast once people found out? Wow, he seemed really sad about something… It looks like Purpled was really interested in the alien sightings. Was that why he was in the forest? Did he mistake the glow for a ufo? Well, he still fell for the lantern trap. THE SHOT BEHIND HIM OF THE FIANCÉS WAS SO COOL! I was so surprised to see one so recent. I was also surprised to see cpk, since I didn’t see him at all last year. Man, seeing George and Fundy chase them was so cool. George leaping at them, and then FUNDY RUNNING ON ALL FOURS WAS SO COOL. Fundy is among my favourite characters, so I loved that! 3:29 wait, is that regret? Why didn’t Fundy just finish him off? (Honestly, I thought that Fundy was going to be the reason that Seapeekay turned into a fox, but then I remembered what creature Fundy’s supposed to be. 😅)

I'm so glad you enjoyed the animatic haha :D Here are some answers that will also be revealed in the A03 chapters: -callahan did not know dream personally -punz it's just a jack of all trades type of thief -king eret -bbh's soul was twisted/tormented when alive, so dream cleansed him of it -ponk was a scientist who work with schlatt, an archaelogist -george was sleep deprived and dream took advantage of that -karl, sapnap and quackity are fans of schlatt and wanted to solve the mystery of his disappearance, so they were excited to find clues - :) -ranboo was a child when he was scratch and had a sleepwalking problem since -yes about purpled -I made the animatic before cpk and aimsey joined the smp so I found a way to work them into the story haha - ;)

I got CHILLS the entire video. Seeing as how all of them were turned into monsters over the years. Some even scratched or hurt and came back years later. Or looking back in the original were led by their own curiosity. But most of them were turned by other monsters or unwillingly turned. What’s even more haunting is the only ones who escaped and didn’t become monsters were Aimsey and CPK. And Ranboo looming over in the background just- uhohoughh- chills.

Wow! That was so awesome! I love seeing how everyone becomes monster...they were even capturing the members and given them over to Dream, their fate is sealed as soon as they step foot in the area. I like how Ranboo let himself become a monster due to being marked.....it must had messed with his mind or something 🤔 god the music really set the tone of how scary or chaotic it get, when being chase by the inhabitants of the village. Holy shit there's so many details- This has been going on for CENTURIES! It almost seems like a compulsion of the people who get turned to be the one to bring in new prey, new people into the group. The differences in the way they died and transformed is so Gruesome and it goes by so quick onto the next one we're barely given time to process which ADDS to their layer of horror written into this au. Prime I love it. The people, once they've been transformed, almost seem to like their new forms, we see that in the grins from the first episode that Tommy and Tubbo had. The fact that how everyone died and certain features they had are linked to their monster form, I adore that level of detail. You never cease to impress Grimmi

I like the implication that, if you've been injured once by someone from the town, sooner or later you'll come back and turn. While it's not confirmed that George has been injured, him and Ranboo both seemingly sleepwalked to the town, without resisting that much. Tho Georges situation does seems to be more complicated, with the green eyes and the fact he did woke up, but just too late. So I guess hes trans is a bit different. At this moment his case is the most interesting to me And CPK has been scratched at the end, which is, I'm pretty sure, is an implication that he'll come back the same way George and Ranboo did. And maybe Aimsey will try to find him, not knowing what fate is waiting for them..... And btw. Bad seemingly got lost in the woods, and while we could explain his crying just by that, I wonder.... If actually something happened? Maybe he ran away from something? I'm not sure, maybe he did just got lost. And for some reason he ran towards Skeppy, which disappeared moment later, and it seems to be his breaking point. I now wonder.... Skeppy convinced him he will help to get out? But it was actually a trap to draw him closer The whole au gives me chills, to be honest. Great work, as always! And gosh I'm now waiting for the next chapters and the fanfic so much, it will be so interesting! P.s. HUMAN-FOOLISH LOOKS ADORABLE, LOVE HIS SHEPHERD OUTFIT AND STAFF

Honestly I would analyze all of them, but the rest seem to be pretty straight-forward. And Ant's story broke my heart so it would be emotionally hard to talk about his case-

George situation is completely different, he got lost and was exhausted ^^ And there's more to BBH's story, you'll need to read his chapter to understand ;) Some of the characters are less straightforward and get more depth! Glad you're enjoying it!

OMG OMG OMG! This was Awesome! I loves every bit. The music, the stories, the transformations, the characters. I really like how you included the timeline type theme, that’s something that’s really smart that you don’t normally see in these kinds of videos. I also kind of felt drawn into it’s lore as well. And even if you didn’t mean to I found like connection to dream smp with Ranboo. How he becomes part of the town reminds me kind of his lore with dream. If you get what I’m saying.
