Welcome back to BABYMETAL. It took you a while to notice, but yes this was a compilation video with clips from 10 different concerts from 2013 through to 2017. There is a video from the live performance at Budokan , Black Night 2014 that has subtitles if you want to watch that as well. The Kami Band were just doing one of their intros - its only fair they get their chance to show off during the shows and there are two or three other songs where they would do an instrumental intro like this. In order of solos in this video they were - Mikio Fujioka (RIP January 2018), Takayoshi Ohmura, BOH on the bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. 'Catch Me If You Can' is the best metal song about playing a game that's a sort of cross between tag, blind man's bluff and hide & seek I've ever heard. It is the perfect mix of the two extremes with the brutal instrumentals and the sweet vocals - and the game they are playing, they're playing with an Oni (a sort of Japanese ogre popular in regional festivals and used specifically to frighten children ... which amuses me probably more than it should). The growling vocals (they are on a backing track) are the Oni asking things like "Are you ready?" and the best response has to be "Maada da yo" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance. You could learn the dance if you want ... but I have heard tell of people doing themselves an injury charging round their living rooms shouting "Maada da yo".

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🏃‍♀👹 This cute song is about playing a game that is like hide-and-go-seek, tag or blind-man's-bluff. Pursued by an "Oni"" which is a kind of Japanese ogre, or demon. While Megitsune is still my favorite, I think this has one of their their cutest choreographies. If much of their charm is in the blending of the cute and the brutal, this song is a great example. They're all turned up to 11. They performed this song quite a bit in 2017, but not since. The last time I saw this one live was in Chula Vista, California when they were on tour opening for Korn.

Babymetal performed live 2 days in a row at the same venue in the Netherlands in 2018, the second day a bunch of fans were there for the second time I'm sure. And the second day the crowd was even more lively because of it. Their were some of the regular fans and some Japanese fans at this show. And they said the second day was like it was in Japan. I hope everyone on stage enjoyed it and I feel proud we could give the crowd them what they deserve.

In BABYMETAL concerts, performers need a lot of energy and they require it to the audience as well. Last year, my smart watch indicated more than 600Kcal consumption after a show in Budokan 😄 (even without mosh pit in the all-seater arena). BM concert works well as workout. In an interview, Moa said she and Su were continuing hard physical training like first-class athletes even in the inactive COVID period . That is why they could perform flawlessly 90-minutes almost non-stop shows in 10 BABYMETAL Budokan concerts last year.

In Japan, it was said that playing tag after dark was forbidden because you would be hidden by the gods or taken by kidnappers. As you know, the lyrics of the nursery rhyme "赤い靴(The Red Shoes)" quoted in this song are about a girl wearing red shoes who was taken away by a foreigner. In addition, "Oni" in Japan are not only frightening but also sad. I hope this will be of some help to you🤘🦊

@@jakemuller8626 Hmmm, what can I say, I feel a certain sadness in games such as tag or hide-and-seek. They remind me of the underground theater of the 1970s, such as Shuji Terayama and Juro Kara. I think there is an aspect that these were intended to internally resolve and sublimate the dark times in Japan. Their plays also employ tag, hide-and-seek, and nursery rhymes. However, even if Japanese, they would not necessarily agree with me. I apologize for not being able to tell you this in an organized manner. By the way, I bought tomatoes today for Yui's birthday tomorrow (Japan time). Of course, I intend to eat them raw🍅😄

The Kagarou intro is by the fake kami band and its kind of a flat solo. Only highlight is the drummer but he uses triggers to get the bass blast sound.

@@rah2287 Oh No lol... I am talking about the Kagarou intro done by the replacement west band in like 2020. (I'll add that in the comment) Although the Rock Am Ring 2018 version of Kagarou when it was called Tattoo is good even though it had no intros. It was Su solo with the band and Takayoshi using Mikio's guitar. He even used the whammy bar there (Takayoshi doesn't use it.) You can tell he was doing it for Mikio. Unfortunately during the small solo of the song. The camera stayed in Isao instead of Takayoshi. As for the West Band intro. It just feels like an extended intro to the song and kind of flat with no flair or excitement.

@ Radioraffa never have heard the Western Kami Band referred to as “fake”. Perhaps you have a preference? If so understood but I think they deserve more respect than that. I am no musician but the only other person I heard accusing Anthony Baroni of using a trigger was reactor KarlReacts. Good luck and take care.

I know Baroni is a good loud drummer who changes bands like underwear, the rest of the band is Galactic Empire who was a bunch of real studio guys who came up with a Gimmick idea to dress up in Star Wars outfits and all the fan boys got excited. The bass player is actually a guitar player and uses a pick.. There's no Picks in Bass Playing! SLAP! LOL 😂.. They are good musicians but compared to the East.. Just not the same. But since after the Fox Festivals of 2017 nothing was the same for BM.
