An emotional moment towards the end of the movie for me. Seeing the elder Robert Stack play Eliot Ness 30 years after the legendary TV series brought back my own life time memories of watching him the play the role in awe 35 years ago. Growing up as a child watching gangster movies, every kid in our neighbourhood loved the role of the gangster. I pretended to be Eliot Ness Thank you Robert Stack and thank you to the real Eliot Ness for the great memories 🙏

I have to share with ya'll. Mom born 1920's looked so much like Robert Stack (mostly hair) Plus, Judge Judy look alike and The Queen of England Queen Elizabeth. Mom born in Scotland. Us five kids bought her a wig for a Christmas present in exactly the same style, cut and the same color!! circa mid 70's Mom was the best we also bought her a family ring. RIP Mom

RIP Robert Stack, truly one of the best actors to grace the silver screens. He WAS, in every way, Elliot Ness ! RIP Charles Durning, one of the best supporting actors ever ! I loved watching the series, The Untouchables, when it first aired on TV in 1959. I was just a child then, but enjoyed watching it with my parents. Robert Stack was Eliot Ness back then as well, so he'd aged really well as he was born in 1919 and died in 2003, so he was 72 when this film was made in 1991. Would have given this a "like" were it not for all the ads.

As a lover of gangster movies the Untouchables was one of the few true to life TV shows. The producers of the show got actors that look almost identical to the actual person. Prohibition & bootleg booze was what Ness & the untouchables were out to stop. Gambling , racketeering & prostitution was part of this era in history. My mother told me about shoot outs, cars blown up & gangsters & hitmen coming into her restaurant in the 1930's. She lived through these very few years of prohibition. We would watch that TV show together & she would say "that's just the way it was" Al Capone was sent to prison by Eliot Ness for income tax evasion. He never expected that.

“The Return of Eliot Ness” is that rarity - a well-made TV movie, every bit as good as a feature film. The timing was good, too, with a revival of interest in Ness after the big-screen “Untouchables.” Robert Stack was in his seventies and still in good form. Add to that a fine supporting cast, including the distinguished stage actor Philip Bosco. (“Roses” Molto, great character!) The costumes, production design, and music were also top-notch. I’ve enjoyed this film more than once.

Robert Stack is one of the most electrifying and charismatic actors of all time. His high energy, commanding persona dominates the screen. A classically trained voice, steeped in projection and elocution puts the cherry on top of this bundle of talent. His family is receiving residual monies, The dental industry has started to show his flicks to patients, thus, eliminating the need to use novocaine.

More than half a century ago I watched "The untouchables" every week on TV in Japan with Japanese dubbing. Only thing I remember is Eliot Ness's widow telling the reporter Robert Stack is very much alike real Eliot Ness.

Ness at it again and always gets his man. And, in the end the woman went down too. Excellent Acting, Episode, Ending. Just love it when the bad guy(s) gal(s) go down with a good ending and the good guys win. Linda Lawson,

Robert Stack was a better Elliot Ness than ... Elliot Ness. Even when he played John Paul Jones, he was Elliot Ness. Gotta love him and Jack Lord, the only Steve McGarret.

Righto on both counts, T.R.! Grew-up watching The Untouchables! "Book 'em! Murder one, Dano." The version of now is so pale by comparison to our original. It's strange but most, excepting for ourselves, do not know that Ness was an agent of "The Bureau of Prohibition" -- no longer existing after the amendment that coup-de-gras'd Prohibition.

Eliot ness, reminds me of good child hood day, American TV,‘Untuchable had been utterly pmpular police druma among Japanese then not only adult but also kids. When this druma had been running in Japan, i was the elementary school boy. i used to watch this druma exitingly in front of TV set. and i had first known the name of FBI. Any way, the cutting edge, smart phone presented us the very precious footage , It is possible for us to being shared with everything due to Smart phone. Finally thanks a lot for the precious footage.

The good ol' days. 😊 I remember the Bonnie and Clyde movie from '68. It was very popular. You could buy gangster clothes and listen to songs about them on the top of the pops. Another great movie was The Sting from 74. Not excactly a gangster movie, but in the same style. The music with Joplin rags just fantastic!
