I am seeing this classic after 71 years since it was made. Lee van cleef looked so suave and younger, even Jack Elam looked so fragile even in his younger days. What a change from suave look to the ruffians in western movies ! Delightful movie really enjoyable.

Maravilhoso ! Simplesmente maravilhoso! Lee Van Cleef atua neste suspense, antes de virar mega astro de filmes de cowboy! Do tempo em que filme de suspense, não tinha nada a ver com filme de terror, como nos dias de hoje; onde misturam tudo ! Nada de chacina, gente cortando gente e muito sangue ! Não, nada disso! Mas simplesmente um excelente enredo, onde a história é sempre fascinante e o final é sempre bom ! Parabéns por postar um filme assim !!!

Lee Van Cleef was definitely underrated. Superb in anything he did. Evil made skin crawl good made you just want to melt into his arms. But he really ran the midline, never quite knew what he was no matter what movie he was in he might be good five minutes later he was killing somebody. Yet he was a pleasant man everybody said was a nice man so I guess basically he was the average guy. Perfect for the American Western and especially for American genre. We will miss character actors like him. All the new ones sound alike their voices lacking the dialect of where they grew up and their faces lacking difference. They all want to look like the most current star instead of themselves. It's hard to tell them apart unless you really are sucked into the world of social media. But when one was able to just watch them on the screen and really get to know them through their characters one really allowed them to be an actor and hopefully for a few of them they had a private personality they could call all their own.

Kansas City Confidential rates a 7.3 on IMDB. That's a ten point scale. And this really is a very good film. The colorizing wasn't perfect, but it did make it seem more contemporary. The writing is very tight, the acting well done, and the story constantly builds in tension. I must say the very end is a bit unrealistic, but the rest is very realistic with real psychological complexities. This was a very early performance by Lee Van Cleef. It's nice to see him in one of his early films.

Love Jack Elam what a great character actor. Lee Van Cleef another great person on screen and off knew him from The Master TV show. Neville Brand I heard he was 3rd most decorated soldier in WW2. He was another great.
