In the past year I've played probably 30 kaiserriech games. Only in 5 games did the csa not win, and in two of those five games that was because I deleted their troops and the other 3 was because I played another american nation. The devs continued to buff them despite this citing internal testing, so generally its CSA by mid 39 now

@@aaronsound It's harder if you're not used to paradox games. I'd say play with a mod like HPM or GFM instead of normal victoria 2 for starters. Play a nation like Brazil that has room to grow but isn't ever really threatened. What really gets your economy going are the commerce techs that increase your output efficiency and input efficiency, mining and farming techs don't hurt either. What I like to do is set my national focuses to clergymen for my most populous states until around 2% of my population. I then get my bureaucrats and admin efficiency up after that, then I like to try and boost Capitalists to get a national bank and investment pool growing. The game can seem really difficult, but if you start out small and play countries like Sweden, Brazil, Uruguay, etc... Then you'll have a much easier time trying to figure out the game.
