Why oh why did they cut out the second scene? People were saying Henry isn’t a good Superman, he’s too glum blah blah blah. Yet in the second scene, he looks reborn, he’s smiling, talking proudly and standing proud, he was Superman in that scene, proud tall and heroic.

Alfred says 'Master Kent' to definitely show respect to the man, but to also demonstrate that he acknowledges Supes as not only Batman's ally/teammate, but also Batman's true friend. Alfred definitely knows he's in the presence of greatness, but he's a lowkey, subtle man. There are VERY, VERY little situations where he has trouble containing his emotions.

Nope. Zimmer score was probably used for sampling because this was cut prior to Danny Elfman scoring the movie(generelly the last thing that happens on a film). This matches the color tone of the final Joss Whedon cut. And Clark wears the shirt from the scene with Lois that 100% was not in the Snyder version. The scene with Alfred as well, because Superman was suppossed to A. Wear the black suit. And B. be the bad guy at the end of this movie to set up the second one. So Alfred saying "He said you'd come" doesn't fit. Also just clearly not a typical Snyder frame. He usually frames a bit lower and would rather go to a wide than show something like a glass of liquid shaking.

@@HermanFalckHow I feel pretty sure Superman in black and being the bad guy was scrapped before they started filming. That was the original concept back when it was supposed to be a two parter. But the plot was changed to what it is now after the BvS backlash. I don't think the movie Snyder filmed was so radically different as people like to believe. Just look back at the first Justice League trailer from Comic on. That's from before Whedon was hired and tonally matches this scene much more than the movie that was released. The "Snyder cut" was always lighthearted, it just focused more on the characters being charismatic than on quips and gags as Whedon's movie does.

TheWilczak Yes, particularly them because Warner Brothers are also responsible for that mess we received. Their tight control, both in terms of creative writing and costs, ruined the movie. Joss Whedon is the one who tried to fix it, although he failed, so he’s partial but still should be held accountable.

For me, these are exactly the kinds of dramatic scenes that made BvS a rewatchable film and their absence was felt in Justice League. I didn't out and out love BvS, but on repeat viewings I've come to really appreciate its melodramatic tone and for that reason it's my favourite DCU film so far...

Totally agree. While I wouldn’t call BvS “A Masterpiece”... it has improved every time I have watched it..and I’ve watched it a lot. There must be a reason for that! I’ve seen JL 3 times and I’m done. There is nothing more I can get from it. BvS is genius, weird, bold, messy, clunky, bombastic & beautiful. Justice league is....dumb. Gal Gadot alone saves it.

It’s definitely a film you come to appreciate with successive viewings. Personally I really enjoy it because it’s slightly disjointed pacing, over the top characters, visuals, plot points etc all feel like they were plucked straight from a comic book without the process of ‘movievisation’ that comic book characters &/or storylines undergo when being made into films. Regardless of what anyone thinks about BvS, it’s cult classic material. The same can be said for Man of Steel, the jury will always be out on those two films.

B Smith, so you think these characters are one dimensional or they should be portrayed in a single way, disregarding the thousands of different portrayals in comic-book history? I think the biggest problem with such a criticism as yours is that you have a particular idea or understanding in your mind for the portrayal of these characters and when you saw the interpretation of Zack Snyder you simply disliked it or could not accept it because of that. I've come to realise that many people actually think like this, as if there is only one or a few ways to present these characters. I'am not saying the film was perfect or it did not have any flaws, but saying that Zack Snyder does not understand these characters is just not a valid criticism. Trust me, he has read more comic books than you will ever read.

It turns out that Superman's base is controlled by the government, Lex Luthor can safely grow monsters in the next room and through the hole in the ceiling police can get in. Fortress of Solitude. 2) Batman fights against aliens and Alfred works with a car. I think there were too many twist and turns instead lf it being just 1 or two big ones that the fans would enjoy. Instead, and I feel not as strongly as as many angry star wars fans feel, he further pushed the Mary Sue issue that Ray has. I really wanted Luke to have to die and ep9. I think that was a bad move because you didn't give Luke enough ark and time to get over his crabby attitude . If JJ is as smart as I know he is, They will give an explanation as to why she's so powerful and fill in the gaps about her parents. Which was so disatisfying for so many. But I feel the Luke issue really burned so many fans. I don't feel as upset as others but I can empathize.

Men and Women coming together and showing how a man should treat a women would have immortalized the movie. Instead, it did feel like all the men in this movie are either arrogant, angry, stubborn and imcompetant. Read a thread on Reddit that has believable speculation. They said the plan was to always color switch the suit in post-production to black when needed. The suit in JL is different from the ones in MoS and BvS because if you look at it, you'll notice that there's a lot of shiny accents used to define muscles way too much which myself and a lot of people didn't like. But when you color switched the suit in JL, the definition to the muscles seems normal on top of the black suit

He only showed us an image of an existing reel of his cut in the Warner Bros vaults, confirming that there is a raw untouched cut of his version. But WB said working on this cut for release costs a lot of money which they are not keen on sparing. Either they will release it on HBO Max by spending that much, or this whole thing was a cruel April Fool's hoax to keep us on our toes.
