@Tony Stank I partly disagree, and here's why: 1. The mood in ZSJL is much more mature and doesn't have the schlocky attempts at humour from the Whedon version. 2. The villains are now more fleshed out, with Steppenwolf no longer being a shit looking CGI monster that keeps saying "mother" over and over. Instead he looks much better and has a purpose that makes more sense. We also see relationships between villains. 3. Cyborg gets so much character development, whereas in Whedon's version he's a forgettable character. 4. The Amazons are far more competent in ZSJL. 5. We got a better explanation of what the motherboxes do. 6. We got Flash's time travel scene. 7. We no longer had that sub-plot with the Russian family. The look of the whole thing seems much more polished, it has better colours etc.

Zack Snyder's Justic League is how a superhero team up movie should be made. There's no annoying quips or dumb jokes that take away from the seriousness or arguments that take up too much of the runtime. Everyone instead is working together as a unified team, and are thinking like one mind.

I 100% agree. The reason I actually enjoyed Man of Steel along with Batman V Superman is because they were different to Marvel. Instead of copying the Marvel formula, Zack Snyder keeping things serious with a dark tone and minimal jokes was refreshing to watch and brought out a different reaction from me that I never anticipated when it came to watching superhero films. Considering Marvel was dominating the superhero genre, I wanted more films in the DCEU to be in the exact tone Snyder was going for. But unfortunately, due to Warnerbros stupidity of only wanting to appease the critics who constantly complained about Snyder's films being too dark and serious with no humor, they sabotaged their own universe. If WB had any common sense, they should have realized that all the critics that were complaining about Zack's films just wanted Marvel 2.0. Lighthearted tone, humor, levity, and not taking itself seriously. The only thing funny about it is they listened to the critics and now their movies are flopping.

Also, i recently rewatched The Avengers on Disney +, and quite frankly i enjoyed it less than the first time i saw it on cinema; there is something off with the movie, the action, the pace, the dynamic of the team, the villain. This will enraged a lot of people, but i think that ZSJL manage to do better than even the first and most popular cinematic team up had ever done: Steppenwolf is an actual menace and is scary, there is cooperations and a genuine synergy between the members of the League, and the stakes are high. This is what a cbm movie has to be.

No. It really isn't. The movie and this scene in particular is so pedestrian. There's nothing epic about it. The team up feels unearned, the action is generic and uninspired to say the least (constant slomo doesn't help) and the dialogue from the Steppenwolf is from an early 2000s comic book movie. And by the time this scene happens Wonder Woman's music has been used so many times it's downright comical. When she beheads Steppenwolf we were all in hysterics laughing when the music kicked in for the 20th time. That should only happen in a spoof.

@Al I guess it's a matter of personal opinions then. Because in my opinion it is a good sequence on it's own. The dialogue is good. And Superman doesn't immediately turn evil. The Knightmare sequence makes it very clear that it takes place in the future. Superman was supposed to turn evil by the 3rd JL movie.(I also don't think killing Superman in BvS was a stupid decision. It worked narratively). And it makes sense to have Joker on Batman's team. Again, Batman is desperate in the Knightmare timeline and needs any help he can get. And allying with Joker displays his desperation. I don't think that Snyder can't do Darksied without the Knightmare storyline. It's just that this is the story he went with. That's like saying why can't the Russo Brothers do the Infinity Saga/ Thanos without Time Travel.

What I love the most about this moment is how Steppenwolf barely acknowledges Victor and Arthur other than to fight them, but he intentionally targets Diana. He uses the one thing that would be the most effective in getting a ride out of her and throw her off balance and make her vulnerable to a killing blow. He used Diana’s love for Themyscira and the Amazons, even though she has been banished for over a hundred years. And Steppenwolf knew that he could get under her skin simply by mentioning Themyscira and Hyppolita. Absolutely brilliant tactic. Now, why he didn’t use that against Victor, because he also watched as Victor’s father died and could’ve used that to get him mad, I have no idea.

Second, the only reason people are prasing ZSJL cut now is that we had an even worse movie in theaters so it offering the opportunity for comparison made Zack's cut more likable and people closed their eyes to its flaws. However, trust me, had they released Snyder's cut in the theaters it would've received as much criticism as Wheadon's version, may be slightly less, but still too much. Except ZSJL wasn't epic. It was pedestrian at best. It was more like an early 2000s comic book movie with a generic villain saying the most inane dialogue possible. And this scene in particular is the very definition of mediocre. Batman is given nothing to do but play first person shooter lol. The action isn't inventive in the slightest and the cinematography is so dull and color-less with the turd brown filter it's sleep inducing. I can't believe people actually find this stuff "epic". Standards have clearly dropped.

The reason I felt this final battle worked so much better than the one in the theatrical cut is it feels everyone has a purpose for being there. In the theatrical cut, it just feels like Superman rendered everyone irrelevant as soon as he joined the battle and everyone else wasn't given much else to do. In the Snyder Cut, sure, Superman does tip the scales in their favor, but he doesn't completely dominate the final battle. There's still the job that Cyborg and Flash had to fulfill.
