@@echo4428 No it's the Southern Victory Series not Guns of the South. They're called barrels because on the American front in the war they were coded as "water barrels" like Britain did with calling theirs "water tanks" otl.

A lot of these modders come from parts of the mainline Alternate History forum where Turtledove is... very well known, often derided, but in an affectionate way, like that friend who just keeps doing dumb things but you love them anyway. (Meanwhile they really don't like SM Stirling that much, but that's because he actually deliberately tried to make the forum do his research for his novels for him. That and people are REALLY sick of Draka stuff since it's just Nazis on steroids.)
