Udyr had for the entirety of his rework (besides his overbuffed launch) and still has a 49% wr in masters+ elo for top lane despite his low pick rate. This pick sucks and only works in a small niche of players that continue to play him.

To be fair a lot of people calling this brain dead, but almost every clip shows a very strong understanding of his limits. It’s not like he’s walking over opponents with full HP not even close. Almost every kill is close down to the last ability. Sure it’s mechanically simple input wise, but there’s definitely a lot of mastery over ability prioritization and limit knowledge that this player is showing. Every kill is very close and very precise 95% of udyrs won’t get any of the kills shown in this video and will die instead. That’s why you don’t see this at high elo… this guy is just a god lmao

i hear what your syaing... but all hes doing is auto spacing and pressing R, empower R to dive chase for big trades, w/empower'd W for low hp cheese sustain like what WW does. Its not as easy as it sounds, but your making it like hes doing a bunch of stuff to create the lead. He spams no CD R in lane, gets free prio off it, shields/heals through any damage done and if you step up, its another R/Empowered R rundown.... Its a cheap cheese pick that will be picked by the same cheesers who abuse it all, He's just a really good player using an off meta pick.. but its still udyr lmao

Agree with @LimeJ0SH ? Udyr is just OP in term of flexible kits and stats. He is a threat in ARAM tbf. Based on the video, i dont see much mechanically plays, just a champ that utilize his stats and flexible kits to 100%.

Udyr is the most versatile champ riot has ever made. Need tank? You got it, need fighter? Say no more, need magic dmg? You got covered. You name it udyr have it. The only problem is udyr don't have leap/dash to compete with modern champ

This kind of R-max top Udyr with Demonic first has been around for a little less than a year now, not long after his rework IIRC. It is very vulnerable to being kited if there's a decent ranged slow on the enemy team; someone with Serylda's or Rylai's is almost necessary vs Udyr or you are going to have a bad time.

I like horizon focus third after demonic jaksho, it does a lot of extra dmg since it will always amp your r dmg. Gargoyle stoneplate later is also very good, the combo with jaksho is strong but expensive. Rabadons, mejai, and cosmic drive are all options while snowballing as well. As for empowered q vs r, q is better against one isolated person but vs 2+ empowered r is better. The empowered q tooltip damage is for each auto, so the % max hp magic damage is for all 6 lightning strikes in one auto and if you land both you will do double this. You can also empower q and then swap stances and your next 2 autos will still call the lightning, useful for ap builds sometimes.

i was already playing udyr top at the start of season 13, i had 60% winrates out of ~320 games, ppl always called me : "wtf is this shit, so broken, i love to see your hp lowering when i hit you" "fair champ" and so on, it is indeed not very mecanically hard to do, but i realize how well i know udyr when i win almost every lane with this champ, i would not say "the return of udyr top" because for me, he was always there

1:08 Darius can just instant ghost and kill Udyr or make him back all the way to tower. Darius has a 90% slow and flash while Udyr just has TP. Why would you take 50% of your hp and then ghost? Just trade the ghosts and play off flash advantage to bully a three wave crash.

Cause nobody likes playing broken ass champs that requires no brainpower except for tryhards and elo hungry players. It's exactly what happened to Fizz, Kassadin, Pre-Rework Kayle, Corki before season 9. Pre-Rework Kayle was probably the strongest champ in the game since her items were dirt cheap (rageblade 2600 gold lol). But she was horrendous to play due to how braind**d and OP she was
