Another great documentary 👍. We just took a trip to the Porcupine Mountains in the UP of Michigan. We hiked several trails and we always met other hikers except on the Union Mine Interpretive trail which follows a small river and was rather challenging for an 82 and 73 year old lol. We never saw another soul but something followed us in the woods paralleling us just out of sight. We have no idea what it was. Possibly a wolf or bear or even a human but the whole time we both had a feeling of being watched and being creeped out.

Possibly a wolf. They sometimes follow people out of curiousity. There are well over a thousand wolves in the UP but no human attacks. The last person killed by a bear in Michigan was in the Porkies in the late 1970s. It is a beautiful area but not so much during bug season.

Have you all watched Willow Creek, the movie? It'll make you think twice about going here. Good movie.
@westernbigfootexplorationАй бұрын
Willow Creek is one of my favorite movies. Here goes some fun facts. The bigfoots you hear are Robert Leiterman! He found the crew filming at a bar in Willow Creek and they had no idea how to get anywhere or what a bigfoot would sound like. In that bar scene, you see Ian Carton (interviewed in this doc as well) at the bar! Look close 😉. Robert took the crew to Louse camp and also the beginning of the PGF trailhead. They filmed the tent scene at Louse Camp. The creek he jumps into naked, is the same blue pool Aleks jumps in. We are exactly where all of it was filmed. Neat huh?
@SMG-lz1zqАй бұрын
Yeah, that's cool. You responding makes me feel like part of the crew. I will re-watch it when I get a chance and look out for them. Wish I could be out there with you guys. I love this stuff.
@TinusTegenlichtАй бұрын
I have posted the following question before. It is a genuine question, so I hope someone wants to help me. It is about the Bigfoot vocalisations. People say those whoops, roars, etc are from Bigfoot. But how do you know? Has anyone ever seen one make those sounds? The view video clips I have seen, the BF's are all silent. So, how can you be sure? And the wood knocks same question, how do you know? Where I live we don't have any sightigs of cryptida in the Netherlands and where I live we have a few parks, half a mile wide and 1,5 miles long, that is it. Some rabbits, hares, mice and foxes live here. But once I was in the park and there was such a weird sound, we thought it was made by humans, but it were 2 trees touching each other and the breeze let the trees 'rub' each other which caused this very eerie sound. So, can't these knocks he something similar or trees reacting to the temperature which is going down at night?
@hunternedib1119Ай бұрын
If you introduce science within this community they get very upset.
@karistone1297Ай бұрын
I’ll try to answer your question as best as I understand. It’s more a process of elimination. By knowing the regular sounds and noises other creatures make, one can cross off what the noises ARENT. That’s why it’s important to study the area you’re investigating and record your findings. There’s also a machine that can analyse sound waves of calls and whoops of various animals (each has a distinctive pattern) and then you can compare and analyse them. If something distinctly unusual and unrecognised comes up, you know further investigation and recordings are warranted. Chris Spencer of The Olympic Project specialised in sound recordings and you can watch a Small Town Monsters documentary on their work. Hope that helps a little.
@TinusTegenlichtАй бұрын
@@karistone1297Hello! Thank you for your reply. It makes sense, but I guess you only know for a 100% sure if you see a BF making these sounds. It is a pity there aren't any videos made with the Sierra vocalisations. Do you know if the people who made these recordings actually saw the BFs? If BF exists, it must he very rare indeed, which makes it hard to find them. I noticed most videos are people following logging roads, but I haven't seen one of people going on foot for lets say 5 days into the wilderness. In this video they stayed mainly on the road, which was very noisy with that gravel. Doesn't that work against their research? Do you go out in nature yourself as well looking for BF? Have you seen or heard ahything yourself?
@mittenmanaaron4266Ай бұрын
I would say , to be equally open to encounters from people and not simply and only what you get from “clips” you watch and many more amazing bits of info will come pouring in

Absolutely right rule out what the sounds aren't. I live in northern Ontario very rural area. and late January and February when I go 9ut with my dog around 4am. there are really really loud bangs. Sounds just like hittingva tree with a baseball bat. Really loud. No one is around at that time of the morning. Air is crisp and still. Its so quiet then Bang and Ban Bang Bang. A suggestion on collecting samples, you should have a notebook so you can take notes about the sample, was it on a straight tree or downed tree, was it at ground or 8 feet up the tree. If it is on a branch the animal may have climbed, etc. Do not send the notes with the sample if you get a beaver sample at 9 feet that would be weird. I worked as a project manager so documenting everything was habit. If I was able I would volunteer to go along and just document things for you. Fun vid, stay safe and healthy.
