Looking forward to it. I gotta say, that it's great to see Adrian Carmack alive and well. I always thought he was a super under-appreciated artist who helped made Doom and Quake 1's world came alive. I would also like to say I thought Tom Hall was overlooked as a creative director whose ideas were ahead of their time. It disappointed me in the past to learn that his brilliant idea's just didn't work with Wolfenstein and Doom's ultra fast pace. As for John Romero, I always hated how people unfairly knocked him for how he let the mega success of Doom get to his head after he clearly worked his butt off for the title and still worked really hard on Quake 1 despite all the distractions and all the infighting for the game's direction. I kinda feels like people just want to desperately hate him because he was this once largely then life character that made a few major mistakes and missteps and they just can't let the failures of Ion Storm and Daikatana go. I mean hell, I've seen a few people actually hate on a renowned and respected figure like John Carmack just because they hated how ID remained a small studio for as long as it did and the new direction Doom 3 tried (Which makes zero sense with JohnC).

Hoping it's not another free-to-play multiplayer shooter, I'd love to play something with a good campaign for once. Can we get back to maze-y, clever, very "open" level designs at long last, please? And guns that felt awesome and didn't rely on aiming down sights to be accurate? Oh, and by the way - I actually think Daikatana had some really neat ideas (like how diverse each era felt, even in terms of weaponry), the problem was the execution and AI.

Doom 4 was horrible console mess though. Atleast UT4 is being a PC-only development and actually truly faithful to UT99 unlike Doom 4 is to Doom..

It may have been horrible for you, but most people including me enjoyed it a lot, and it shows in reviews. I don't really see what you mean by saying that it's console apart from the saving system. They couldn't just make Doom exactly as it was, it would be too simplistic. UT is a different story though, this is a multiplayer game, and the genre was already mature enough when it was released.
